Mission Health is seeking a SATU Registered Nurse to provide compassionate, trauma-informed care to sexual assault and abuse patients in Asheville, NC. The role includes forensic exams, evidence collection, triage, and coordination with physicians, advocates, and law enforcement.

You will educate patients on treatment plans, maintain accurate documentation, and uphold legal/ethical standards while participating in on-call SATU coverage and ongoing quality improvement.

Qualifications

• Active North Carolina RN license or compact state equivalent.
• BLS certification required.
• SANE certification (SANE-A/SANE-P) preferred.
• Trauma-informed care training recommended.
• Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Provide trauma-informed nursing care to SATU patients.
• Perform forensic examinations and evidence collection per protocol.
• Conduct triage, assessment, and ongoing monitoring of patient status.
• Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as ordered.
• Collaborate with physicians, advocates, and law enforcement partners.
• Educate patients and families on care plans, resources, and follow-up.
• Document assessments, interventions, and forensic findings accurately.
• Maintain chain of custody and adhere to legal/ethical standards.
• Participate in on-call coverage and rapid response to SATU cases.
• Engage in ongoing training and quality improvement initiatives.
