Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation in El Segundo, CA seeks a Satellite Technology Integration Engineer (Senior Project Engineer – Multi-Disciplinary) to lead next‑gen space vehicle hardware concepts and integration across space and ground systems. This is a full‑time, onsite role in El Segundo.

Requirements: STEM degree (Bachelor’s or Master’s), ~10 years of engineering experience, strong leadership and communication, and ability to travel domestically up to 1 week per month.

  • Typically, ten (10) years of professional engineering experience with increasing responsibilities.
  • Interdisciplinary experience across multiple space vehicle hardware disciplines: development, analysis, integration, test, and/or on-orbit operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, independently manage studies or projects, and coordinate technical activities of multiple contributors.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Willing to travel domestically up to 1 week per month.

  • Building and leading Aerospace Matrix Engineer teams of subject matter experts to guide new developments.

The National Systems Group serves as the technical advisor to the Intelligence Community and its mission partners involved in the collection and distribution of national and tactical intelligence, including electronics programs, advanced technologies, ground and communications, imagery programs, and systems engineering and launch.

The Survivability and Resilience Office (SRO) of the Advanced Technology Division offers broadening opportunities to make a lasting impact on mission success in a rapidly evolving mission area that requires end-to-end integration of space and ground architectures, cross-organization reach, has varying mission assurance and acquisition approaches, and spans R&D to major system acquisition. SRO - looking for a Satellite Technology Integration Engineer (Senior Project Engineer – Multi-Disciplinary Engineering) to be a key leader in the exploration and development of boundary-pushing non-traditional resilient space systems and their integration into the space enterprise. This involves interdisciplinary technical leadership across multiple next generation technology development and satellite technology maturation initiatives and understanding how these efforts feed into emerging mission areas. This is a full-time position based in El Segundo, CA which requires 100% onsite work.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Working shoulder-to-shoulder with Government & SETA counterparts to coordinate and support satellite technology integration engineering activities, including concept development, design, test, and evaluation across multiple levels of scope and maturity
  • Developing and analyzing novel space vehicle hardware concepts from sub-systems to complete hardware systems and assessing their impact on overall mission success, systems CONOPS, requirements, interfaces, and technology maturation plans
  • Supporting cross-segment integration and testing for both space and ground elements
  • Researching and guiding the development and maturation of technologies and capabilities needed for next generation resilient space and ground systems
  • Identifying and pursuing new opportunities for Aerospace prototyping and technology risk reduction activities
  • Building and leading Aerospace Matrix Engineer teams of subject matter experts to assess and guide new developments or solve emerging problems in critical technology areas
  • Serve as one of the SRO program office representatives in the El Segundo region, coordinating operations, facilities, and overall engagement with the West Coast ETG team
What You Need to be Successful
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics or a related technical discipline from a recognized institution, or equivalent experience
  • Typically, ten (10) years of professional engineering experience with increasing responsibilities
  • Interdisciplinary experience across multiple space vehicle hardware disciplines to include development, analysis, integration, test, and/or on-orbit operations
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, independently manage studies or projects, and coordinate the technical activities of multiple contributors
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Willing to travel domestically (up to 1 week per month)

This position requires a current and active TS/SCI security clearance and polygraph, which is issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.

Pay

$151,300.00 - $226,900.00 Pay Basis: Annual

Aerospace employees working in organizations with technical responsibilities are required to obtain a Security Clearance. U.S. citizenship is required for those positions.
