Job summary

Loft Orbital is seeking experienced software engineers to join our team in San Francisco or remote. You will work on mass-market satellite software, building scalable services and AI-enabled applications that run on satellites in orbit.

Requirements include 5+ years in C/C++ (C++11+), Python, distributed architectures, and modern toolchains (Git, CI/CD, Make, CMake). You will collaborate across teams delivering reliable, high-performance systems with strong testing and containerization.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience stated in the ad.
• Strong C/C++ (C++11+) and Python proficiency required.
• Experience with Git and CI/CD tooling is essential.
• Build systems such as Make and CMake are used daily.
• Familiarity with ABI/API versioning and library management.
• Understanding distributed architectures and networking (UDP/TCP/IP).
• Experience in multi-threaded development and Linux on ARM (Yocto).
• Knowledge of Go or Rust is a plus, plus middleware like gRPC/NATS.
