Perform satellite Command and Control (C2) of the Military Satellite Communications (MILSATCOM) systems for the 10 th Space Operations Squadron (10 SOPS). The Satellite Operator is responsible for real-time interactive spacecraft commanding and data capture activities for assigned satellite contacts, configuring ground equipment before satellite contacts, and responding to ground system alarms. The Satellite Operator will report directly to the Operations Lead through the assigned Shift Lead while on shift duties in the Satellite Operations Center (SOC). The Satellite Operator also documents operational events during the shift and informs the Satellite Operations Center Watch Captain (SWC) of any alarms. The SOC is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week including weekends and holidays, and the Satellite Operator will support rotating 8-hour shifts.
Bachelor's degree or a combination of experience/education in lieu of degree; 2+ years' experience performing military satellite operations.
Occasional travel to support 10 SOPS satellite operations
