Job summary

SPACE EXPLORATION TECHNOLOGIES CORP is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for the Starshield program in Hawthorne, California. You will design and develop mechanisms for cutting-edge satellites, ensuring product delivery timelines and compliance with design criteria.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in engineering, at least 1 year of relevant experience, and is eager to work on mission-critical projects. Compensation includes a salary range of $100,000 to $140,000, along with comprehensive benefits and incentives.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience with mechanical and/or electromechanical design and analysis.
• Master’s degree in engineering or a related technical discipline is preferred.
• Understanding of structural analysis and failure modes of mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

• Own hardware and mechanisms from conceptual design through production.
• Develop design criteria and collaborate on requirements.
• Perform environmental and performance testing on hardware.

Skills

Experience with CAD or FEA software packages

Mechanical and/or electromechanical design

Ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance

Knowledge of GD&T

Education

Bachelor's degree in engineering or STEM discipline
