Job summary

Lynk is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to join the Mission Operations team, focusing on the ground segment of our satellite constellation. You will design, build, and ship backend services, APIs, and automation connecting Lynk's global ground station network to our Mission Operations Software — the platform operators use daily.

This role centers on software development with Python microservices (FastAPI), web dashboards (React/Vue), MQTT, and hybrid AWS/on-prem infrastructure managed

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of professional experience developing production software.
• Experience owning a service in production: design, shipping, operating, debugging.
• Experience designing and consuming REST APIs and working with relational databases.
• Experience with modern development practices: version control workflows, code review, automated testing, and CI/CD.
• Strong working knowledge of Linux environments.
• Familiarity with networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, firewalls).
• Interest in satellite operations or mission operations is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain backend services and APIs that command and monitor satellites.
• Build and evolve REST APIs and event-driven integrations with MQTT and message queues.
• Write production-quality Python; contribute to shared libraries and tooling.
• Contribute to web dashboards (React/Vue) showing telemetry and schedules.
• Participate in MR reviews, automated testing, CI/CD, and architecture decisions.
• Help design and migrate to cloud-native, event-driven architecture on AWS.
