Job summary

nLogic seeks an experienced SATCOM Requirements Systems Engineer to join our El Segundo, CA team. You will support MBSE and requirements development for MILSATCOM programs, contributing to analysis, integration with stakeholders, and briefings for USSF leadership.

Responsibilities include leading MBSE activities, managing baselines, DOORS-driven gap closure, and collaboration with government and contractors. Onsite in a secure facility with US citizenship and clearance expectations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, physics, mathematics, computer science, or a related technical field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in systems engineering or requirements management.
  • Experience with requirements specification, analysis, and verification.
  • Familiarity with requirements traceability tools (e.g., DOORS).
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, refine, and manage system and subsystem requirements with traceability and verifiability.
  • Analyze system requirements and participate in verification activities (review TRDs, ICDs, etc.).

  • Support and occasionally lead technical working groups: prepare materials, document minutes, track actions, foster collaboration.
  • Assist in assessing impacts to the system baseline and integration considerations across stakeholders.
  • Review program documentation, capture reviewer comments, and collaborate with contractors on adjudication.
  • Provide input and develop briefings for USSF program leadership.
  • Participate in risk, issue, and dependency management; identify disconnects and propose solutions.

Job description

nLogic is seeking an experienced SATCOM Requirements Systems Engineer to join our team in El Segundo, CA. In this role, the SATCOM Requirements Systems Engineer will support systems engineering and requirements development for next‑generation MILSATCOM programs, contributing to MBSE activities, requirement analysis, and cross‑stakeholder integration for the U.S. Space Force.

You will join a systems engineering team defining the next generation of space communication systems supporting US Space Force (USSF) satellite communications. You will support Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) activities in a multidisciplinary and collaborative environment. You will interface and collaborate with SE&I team members, contractors, government civilians and members of the USSF. You will lead and support several working groups responsible for leading technical discussion, resolve and identify risk, requirement gaps, developing briefings, writing, and tracking action items, and authoring meeting minutes.

The MILSATCOM Systems Engineering, Integration, and Test (MSEIT) effort provides leading edge Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) for the US Space Force’s Space Systems Center (SSC). We support the Space Force’s acquisition of state of the art satellite communications systems, providing global secure, survivable, and protected communications for our nation’s warfighters. We seek technical individuals who will thrive in a highly collaborative work environment of small teams, using the most modern tools and methodologies to tackle the challenges of integrating complex space and ground communications systems.

Responsibilities
  • Support Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) activities to assist with development and maintenance of technical baselines.
  • Develop, refine, and manage system and subsystem requirements, ensuring they are clear, traceable, and verifiable.

Required Qualifications
  • Ability to obtain and maintain or currently possess a current, in‑scope Secret clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, physics, mathematics, computer science, or a related technical field
  • 3-5 years of experience in systems engineering or requirements management
  • Experience with requirements specification, analysis, and verification
  • Familiarity with requirements traceability tools (e.g., DOORS)
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in a technical discipline, i.e., engineering, physics, chemistry, mathematics, computer science
  • INCOSE ASEP/CSEP/ESEP certification
  • MBSE certification (OCSMP)
  • Experience with Agile development tools or methodologies
  • Knowledge of Jira and Confluence
  • Experience with MILSATCOM systems (AEHF, EPS, WGS, Tactical SATCOM, COMSATCOM)
  • Background working with DoD or military customers
  • Familiarity with space and ground systems such as satellite communications, terminals, or DoD networks
