Job summary

Huntington Learning Center - South Riding, VA is seeking part-time, in-person tutors with SAT/ACT expertise to work with students in a 1-to-1 setting. Strong reading, writing, math and science tutoring skills are valued, with weekday availability encouraged.

A 4-year degree is required and certification is a plus but not required. Flexible afternoon, evening, weekend, and summer hours are available, with competitive pay based on experience and availability.

Responsibilities

• Participate in afternoons, evenings, weekends, and summer hours.
• No lesson plans to write and no parent-teacher conferences.

Part-Time Tutor - In-Person Only

Requirements:

• This is an IN-PERSON POSITION. Candidates who are remote should not apply.
• Bachelor's Degree is REQUIRED.
• Weekday availability is STRONGLY ENCOURAGED at this time.

Huntington Learning Center is hiring in-person, part-time tutors who have expertise and experience tutoring SAT and ACT preparation:

• Tutors with ability and experience teaching reading comprehension, critical thinking, vocabulary, grammar rules, and writing skills.
• Tutors with ability and experience teaching advanced math concepts (Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry and Algebra 2) and application of skills to word problems.
• Tutors with ability and experience teaching science application concepts and thinking like a scientist.
• Tutors may also be asked to work with students on HSPT, ASVAB, GED, etc.

Requirements Include:

• 4-YEAR DEGREE IS REQUIRED: A bachelor's degree is the minimum degree-level requirement.
• This is an IN-PERSON position: A candidate must be able to work in person. Candidates in remote locations should not apply.
• Certification/License a plus, but not required.
• Experience levels can vary - current and retired teachers are encouraged. Professionals with expertise in other subject areas are welcome to apply.
• Must be a caring and qualified professional committed to the success of students.
