Job summary

Sylvan Learning Center is seeking energetic tutors to help high school students prepare for the SAT and ACT after school at our learning center. You will deliver Sylvan’s proven curriculum in one-on-one and small group settings, with occasional evening and weekend sessions.

Ideal candidates hold a four-year degree or equivalent, have a strong SAT/ACT score, and prior teaching or training experience. This is not a remote position; training and pre-planned lessons are provided.

• Previous teaching or training experience preferred.
• Evening and weekend availability required.

Responsibilities

• Inspire, engage, and motivate students.
• Manage small group teaching environment.
• Track, evaluate, document, and manage individual student performance.
• Communicate progress and results to the Center Director.
• Ensure students achieve their highest possible test scores.
• Teach using Sylvan based programs.
• Develop rapport with students and establish a fun learning environment.
• Maintain a positive attitude and demonstrate enthusiasm for teaching and Sylvan.

SATPrep and ACT Prep Tutors Wanted for Fun After-School Tutoring!

Sylvan Learning is the industry leader in providing supplemental education to children in pre-kindergarten through 12th grade. We are seeking smart, dynamic individuals to work with our high school students on preparing for theSATand ACT. Math tutoring, reading tutoring, and writing tutoring of individual students from elementary school through high school may also be available.

In this role, our college prep teachers deliver our proven curriculum to students at our learning center in individual and small group format. Evening and weekend availability may be required.
