This role is hybrid, with the expectation of working at least 2 days per week from the HPE office in San Jose, CA.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and enhance features for the HPE EdgeConnect Orchestrator web application supporting SD-WAN deployments.
- Design and build scalable backend services and APIs for orchestration, monitoring, and network management.
- Implement and integrate AI‑driven workflows that interact with backend systems and data sources.
- Contribute to Copilot capabilities for use cases such as troubleshooting, documentation assistance, and analytics.
- Work with data platforms (e.g., analytics databases, telemetry systems) to enable real‑time insights.
- Write and maintain unit, integration, and white‑box tests to ensure quality and reliability.
- Participate in debugging, root‑cause analysis, and performance optimization across backend and AI workflows.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (engineering, QA, product management) in a distributed environment.
- Contribute to design and architecture decisions with a focus on scalability, performance, and security.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in Java and/or Python‑based backend software development.
- 5+ years of experience designing and developing REST APIs and microservices‑based architectures.
- 2+ years of hands‑on experience building, integrating, or deploying AI/LLM‑powered applications, Copilot solutions, or intelligent automation workflows.
- Experience with prompt engineering, Agentic AI, Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG), AI orchestration, and LLM evaluation techniques.
- Strong experience with database design and development using SQL and/or NoSQL technologies.
- Experience building scalable, cloud‑native applications on AWS, Azure, or similar cloud platforms.
- Familiarity with modern web technologies including JavaScript, React, and Node.js.
- Strong problem‑solving, troubleshooting, and debugging skills in large‑scale production environments.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline; Master's degree preferred.
Salary
Annual Salary USD 136,500 - 276,500 in California.
