Job summary

Fortinet in Santa Clara, CA, is seeking a software engineer to develop and maintain networking products, designing scalable features and cloud-native infrastructure for our security platform. You will collaborate with DevOps and QA to deliver high-quality software, profile and optimize system components, and fix bugs across our current and future releases.

US citizenship is required. The base salary range is $123,000–$151,000, with Fortinet’s comprehensive benefits package and equity

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in cloud-based software development and cross-platform development.
• Proficient in Python and debugging.
• Experience with container orchestration and traffic steering platforms.
• Strong understanding of DevOps and Continuous Delivery.
• Knowledge of microservice architectures, security, and distributed systems.
• Familiarity with networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, TLS) and security considerations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain software components on current and future networking products.
• Design, develop and implement scalable features and infrastructure for a cloud-native security platform.
• Troubleshoot and fix bugs in existing products.
• Collaborate with DevOps and QA to deliver high-quality software.
• Profile, optimize and tune systems for efficient cloud operation.
• Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
