Job summary

Princeton IT Services, Inc. seeks a SAS Admin/Architect to join a federal defense program. The role requires strong Kubernetes expertise, AWS cloud administration, and the ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance. Remote candidates who can relocate to the DC area may apply.

The consultant will manage SAS environments, perform lifecycle activities, and ensure security/compliance across Viya services. On-site work at a Northern Virginia location is required.

Qualifications

• Willing to relocate to the Washington DC area or live nearby.
• US citizenship and willingness to obtain TS/SCI clearance.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Experience with SAS offerings and Viya is a plus.
• Experience with government or defense-sector environments is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Use data in a fast-paced environment to address insider threats to national security.
• Manage SAS Environment Manager: users, groups, roles, content permissions and access controls.
• Perform platform lifecycle activities: upgrades, patching, configuration changes, certificates.
• Monitor health, logs and performance across Viya services and supporting infra.
• Assist with SAS Viya 4.0 (SAS Studio, Visual Analytics, Visual Investigator).
• Collaborate with subject matter experts in insider threat domain.
• Configure and support authentication/authorization integrations.
• Work 100% on-site at a single Northern Virginia location.
• Troubleshoot role and permission propagation across Viya services.
• Ensure platform security and governance (RBAC, least privilege, auditability).

Job Title: SAS Admin/Architect

Location : Remote

Summary: We are seeking a consultant to support a variety of insider threat tasks for a SAS customer in the Federal Government Defense Agency. This consultant would be working with a team of fellow SAS consultants on this project. Applicants must be proficient in AWS usage cloud admin and Kubernetes. Applicants must be willing to obtain a clearance, and live to the DC area (or relocate to DC area).

What We're Looking For

• Working expertise with Kubernetes (AKS, EKS, OpenShift, or equivalent).
• Experience troubleshooting containerized applications at scale.
• Must be currently located in or willing to relocate to the Washington DC area.
• Must be willing to work from client site up to 5 days per week.
• Must be a US citizen willing to obtain a TS/SCI security clearance
• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Computer Science, Economics, Mathematics or related field.

What You'll Do

• Manage SAS Environment Manager, including users, groups, roles, content permissions, and access controls.
• Perform platform lifecycle activities such as upgrades, patching, configuration changes, and certificate management.
• Monitor platform health, logs, and performance across Viya services and supporting infrastructure.
• Assist with the operation and maintenance of a SAS Viya 4.0 instance that includes SAS Studio, Visual Analytics, and Visual Investigator.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts in the insider threat domain.
• Configure and support authentication and authorization integrations,
• Work 100% on-site at a single Northern Virginia location.

• Troubleshoot role and permission propagation issues across Viya services.
• Ensure platform compliance with security and government standards (e.g., RBAC, least privilege, auditability).

Other Responsibilities

• Build a trusted relationship with the customer to provide practical and theoretical guidance in the business value of proposed solutions and set proper expectations to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Understand client business pains and translate them into solutions.
• Provide data and analytical expertise to projects.
• Participate in product and solution training to acquire and maintain a detailed level of product knowledge of core components of SAS offerings.
• Strategize with sales team on objectives for customer meetings, understand how this activity relates to overall sales plan, and provide functional solution leadership for sales opportunities.

Additional Preferred (nice To Have One Or More) Qualifications

• Current clearance (really needed at least TS)
• Master's degree preferably in Business, Computer Science, Economics, Mathematics, or related field.
• Prior experience with Agile development.
• Analytics, business intelligence and/or data management experience.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work as an individual or part of a team.
• Knowledge of SAS products, peripheral technologies, and implementation best practices.
• Good problem solving, organizational, decision-making written, oral, and interpersonal skills.
• Previous Federal government experience.
• Understanding of open-source programming languages.
