Job summary

Infosys seeks a Package Consultant 3 to drive ERP customizations and integration initiatives for our U.S. Retail/Consumer Goods and Logistics clients.

You will partner with cross‑functional teams to design architectures, map data, and implement Vertex tax solutions aligned with business needs. You will lead complex data migrations, develop secure integrations, and ensure performance improvements while maintaining compliance standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent required.
• Relocation and/or travel may be required to work on projects.

• Hands-on Vertex O-Series configuration and tax rules experience.

Responsibilities

• Analyze complex business processes to identify optimization opportunities and draft detailed requirement specifications.
• Define and develop solution architecture and manage integration efforts with ERP systems.
• Design and implement advanced Vertex customizations and ERP enhancements with development teams.
• Develop and implement complex integration workflows connecting the ERP with external apps; lead data migrations.
• Implement performance optimization, ensure security, and lead audit/compliance activities.
• Create detailed documentation and deliver training on ERP customizations for user groups.

In the assigned Job Role of Package Consultant 3, your Area Of Responsibility will be as below:

• Analyze complex business processes to identify optimization opportunities and draft detailed requirement specifications that align with enterprise architecture standards
• Define and develop solution architecture, steering customization and integration efforts based on thorough business analysis
• Design and implement advanced customizations basis ERP platform's capabilities and limitations and develop critical software applications in collaboration with the development team
• Develop and implement complex integration workflows to connect the ERP system with external applications, while leading large-scale data migration strategies to ensure data integrity
• Implement advanced performance optimization strategies focused on scalability, reliability, and user experience, while leading compliance initiatives throughs audits, to uphold security protocols and industry standards
• Develop detailed documentation for complex ERP customizations and lead training workshops tailored to various user groups, to ensure effective knowledge transfer

Required Skill And Experience

• Hands‑on experience implementing, configuring, and supporting Vertex O‑Series in enterprise environments
• Deep functional and technical knowledge of Vertex configuration including Tax Assist rules, jurisdictions, rates, exemption certificates, and reporting
• Experience implementing Vertex in extremely high‑volume transaction environments
• Hands‑on Vertex configuration experience covering both digital services and physical goods tax scenarios
• Proven ability to integrate Vertex with SAP and custom application systems
• Experience defining integration standards including API contracts, payload structures, error handling frameworks, and monitoring strategies
• Solid engineering background with hands‑on experience in API design, data mapping, JSON/XML transformations, and secure integrations
• Ability to define tax data flows, transaction mapping, and reconciliation controls across upstream and downstream systems

Preferred Skill And Experience

Experience participating in architecture reviews and guiding engineering best practices

Additional Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution. Will also consider three years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of every year of education.
• This position may require relocation and/or travel to work/project location.
