Job Summary

The SAP Technical Architect reports to the Director of Enterprise Architecture & Application Development and serves as the primary hands‑on technical authority for all SAP solutions across the enterprise. The role architects, designs, builds, implements, and delivers end‑to‑end SAP solutions across core ERP modules and SAP add‑on platforms. It plays a critical role in ERP consolidation, technical integrity, and integration, working closely with SAP functional teams, business stakeholders, enterprise architecture, automation, and integration teams.

Responsibilities

• Architect and deliver end‑to‑end SAP technical solutions across all phases for projects and enhancements spanning FI, MM, PP, SD, WM, QM, and BW.
• Provide technical guidance for SAP add‑on platforms including SAP TM, SAP EM, SAP IBP, and SAP Hybris / Commerce Cloud.
• Develop and maintain Solution Design Documents, technical blueprints, and architecture decision records for all SAP initiatives.
• Ensure technical integrity and consistency across the SAP landscape, enforcing architectural standards and best practices.
• Play a key technical role in ERP consolidation initiatives, supporting multi‑entity landscape harmonization, system rationalization, and phased migration efforts.
• Serve as the hands‑on ABAP technical lead for priority initiatives – design and develop custom SAP objects (OO ABAP, BADIs, Enhancement Spots, User Exits, RFCs, BAPIs, Z‑functions, IDocs, SmartForms, Adobe Forms).
• Conduct performance tuning and code optimization of complex ABAP programs.
• Lead and conduct technical design reviews and code reviews across internal teams and external delivery partners.
• Guide and mentor SAP functional teams and external partner developers on technical approaches, ABAP best practices, and SAP architectural patterns.
• Own the SAP integration architecture – design and deliver integration solutions using SAP BTP Integration Suite, iFlows, RFC/BAPI interfaces, IDoc processing, REST/SOAP APIs, and API Management.
• Collaborate with the integration team to architect end‑to‑end patterns between SAP and non‑SAP systems (CRM, WMS, third‑party platforms, B2B/EDI).
• Serve as the SAP technical owner for automation initiatives – design and develop SAP‑side technical layer for UiPath RPA bot execution, including RFCs, BAPI wrappers, Z‑functions, and API interfaces.
• Partner with the automation team to ensure SAP technical requirements for RPA, intelligent automation, and agentic use cases are delivered with appropriate architecture, security, and performance.
• Engage with project teams, business workstreams, and IT delivery partners, facilitating clear communication between business needs and technical execution.
• Engage external delivery partners to govern technical quality and alignment with CG architectural standards.
• Contribute to SAP platform roadmap planning and continuous improvement of the SAP technical estate.
• Define and enforce SAP technical development standards, coding guidelines, and architecture governance practices.
• Maintain professional knowledge through workshops, publications, and professional networks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• 10+ years of SAP technical experience with deep ABAP development and solution architecture expertise.
• Hands‑on technical experience across core SAP modules (FI, MM, PP, SD, WM, QM, BW) and ability to architect, design, and deliver solutions across these areas.
• Familiarity with SAP add‑on platforms (SAP TM, SAP EM, SAP IBP, SAP Hybris / Commerce Cloud) is a plus.
• Proven track record leading SAP technical architecture and full‑life‑cycle delivery in large‑scale ERP implementations or consolidations.
• Strong ABAP development skills: OO ABAP, BADIs, Enhancement Framework, RFCs, BAPIs, Z‑functions, IDocs, SmartForms, Adobe Forms.
• Experience architecting SAP integration solutions using BTP Integration Suite, RFC/BAPI interfaces, IDoc processing, REST/SOAP APIs, and API Management.
• Experience delivering SAP technical requirements for automation platforms (UiPath or equivalent).
• Experience in multi‑entity or M&A‑driven ERP consolidation is strongly preferred.
• Deep ABAP technical proficiency and ability to develop, review, and optimize complex SAP programs independently.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills with SAP functional, business, and IT teams.
• Excellent documentation skills: solution design documents, architecture decision records, technical runbooks.
• Ability to work independently as a senior individual contributor with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications

• SAP certifications (Technology Associate, Professional, or module‑specific) and familiarity with SAP Activate methodology.
• Exposure to S/4HANA concepts and architecture, including clean core principles and ECC‑to‑S/4HANA considerations.
• Hands‑on S/4HANA experience is a plus.
• Familiarity with SAP BTP services (Integration Suite, Build, Workflow, Business Application Studio).
• Experience in PE‑backed or M&A‑active environments with multi‑system ERP consolidation.
• Familiarity with AI/ML integration patterns within SAP (SAP AI Core, BTP AI services).
• Experience governing and reviewing delivery from managed service partners and offshore SAP development teams.
• Understanding of DevOps and CI/CD practices in SAP environments (gCTS, transport management, ChaRM).
• Exposure to process mining, task mining, or intelligent automation tools in SAP contexts.

Compensation & Benefits

The pay range for this position is $102,600.00 – $193,425.00. Base pay offered may vary depending on position, location, education, training, and/or experience. Additional compensation includes a short‑term incentive plan and a 401(k) contribution (subject to eligibility). A comprehensive benefits package is also offered.
