Job summary

IBM Consulting is seeking a SAP Security Specialist to maintain secure SAP applications for enterprise clients in a hybrid delivery model. You will configure SAP security, implement policies, collaborate with clients, and stay current with SAP HANA security to ensure compliance.

This role emphasizes risk-based access, audits, and documentation across SAP environments, with focus on SAP Fieldglass and related tools within enterprise SaaS contexts.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Strong experience in access management and security administration for enterprise SaaS applications; SAP Fieldglass knowledge is desirable.
  • Experience supporting contingent workforce and services procurement processes, including contractor lifecycle management and access governance controls.
  • Proven ability to manage regional operations, handle escalations, coordinate handoffs, produce service reporting, and resolve complex access-related issues.
  • Familiarity with security role models, workflow optimization, automation initiatives, and access-related integrations; awareness of S/4HANA and SAP IAG environments is a plus.
  • Exposure to industry standards such as SOX, HIPAA, and GDPR and their implications on SAP security.

In this role, you'll work in one of our IBM Consulting Client Innovation Centers (Delivery Centers), where we deliver deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients around the world. Our delivery centers offer our clients locally based skills and technical expertise to drive innovation and adoption of new technology.

Your role and responsibilities

As a Package Specialist in SAP Application Security, you will be responsible for maintaining SAP application security solutions for clients, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. You will work closely with clients to understand their security requirements and translate them into functional solutions using SAP security tools.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

Configure SAP Security Settings: Configure and customize SAP security settings to meet client requirements, implementing role-based access control and segregation of duties in SAP systems.

Implement Security Policies: Design and implement SAP security policies and procedures, conducting security audits and risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and recommend remediation.

Collaborate with Clients: Collaborate with clients to understand their security requirements and translate them into functional solutions, providing training and support on SAP security best practices and tools.

Maintain Technical Documentation: Develop and maintain technical documentation and knowledge base, staying up-to-date with new features and releases of SAP security modules.

Stay Current with SAP HANA Security: Stay up-to-date with the latest SAP HANA security features, trends, and best practices.

Required technical and professional expertise

Strong experience in access management and security administration for enterprise SaaS applications; SAP Fieldglass knowledge is desirable.

Experience supporting contingent workforce and services procurement processes, including contractor lifecycle management and access governance controls.

Proven ability to manage regional operations, handle escalations, coordinate handoffs, produce service reporting, and resolve complex access-related issues.

Skilled in validating user access against lifecycle dates, supplier relationships, business unit and site restrictions, approval structures, and compliance requirements.

Exposure to security role models, workflow optimization, automation initiatives, and access-related integrations; awareness of S/4HANA and SAP IAG environments is a plus.

Preferred technical and professional experience

SAP HANA Security Knowledge: Exposure to the latest SAP HANA security features, trends, and best practices, with the ability to apply this knowledge to design and implement secure SAP solutions.

Industry Standards Familiarity: Understanding of industry standards and regulations, such as SOX, HIPAA, and GDPR, and their implications on SAP security solutions, with the ability to ensure compliance.

SAP Security Tools Proficiency: Experience working with SAP security tools to design and implement security policies and procedures, with the ability to configure and customize SAP security settings.
