Job summary

ZEISS in Dublin, CA seeks a skilled SAP MDG Master Data Steward to manage master data within SAP MDG and enforce data governance policies. This role focuses on data integrity across finance data while collaborating with IT, finance, and operations to align on governance standards.

The candidate should have 3–5 years of master data management experience, preferably in SAP MDG, and a strong ability to document data catalogues and policies. A strong communicator and team player is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in master data management, preferably within an SAP environment.
• Experience with SAP MDG and data stewardship is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the creation, maintenance, and deletion of master data records in SAP MDG.
• Ensure data quality and integrity by implementing data governance policies and procedures.
• Act as the contact person for any data-related questions and assist employees in understanding data.
• Document and maintain all catalogue-relevant elements, including business descriptions, governance roles, data lineage, data quality, and data policies.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to define local data standards and governance processes, ensuring compliance with established policies.
• Educate local data users on best practices for data creation and management to uphold business requirements.
• Actively supervise data entry processes to enforce data integrity and quality, ensuring that all data records meet organizational standards.
• Ensure data privacy and compliance with CSOPs/SOPs, enforcing processes at every stage of the data lifecycle.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, finance, and operations, to gather requirements and ensure alignment on master data initiatives.
• Grant data access permissions and ensure that the right people have access to the required data.
