The Job at a Glance
The SAP Integration Suite Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and supporting enterprise integrations leveraging SAP Integration Suite, including Cloud Integration (CPI), API Management, Event Mesh, and related SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) services. The role partners closely with business stakeholders, ERP teams, application owners, and external partners to deliver scalable, secure, and reliable integrations across SAP and non‑SAP platforms.
A Typical Day
Integration Development & Support
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and support integrations using SAP Integration Suite (CPI).
- Build and maintain APIs using SAP API Management and RESTful integration patterns.
- Develop integrations utilizing IDoc, RFC, BAPI, SOAP, REST, OData, JDBC, SFTP, AS2, and EDI protocols.
- Create reusable integration assets and frameworks that support enterprise scalability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production integration issues while ensuring adherence to SLAs.
- Monitor integration performance and implement proactive improvements.
SAP & Enterprise Integration
- Develop and support integrations between SAP S/4HANA and enterprise applications such as EDI platforms, CRM solutions, tax engines, supplier and customer portals.
- Collaborate with business process owners to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Support cloud‑to‑cloud, cloud‑to‑on‑premise, and hybrid integration scenarios.
API & Architecture
- Participate in enterprise integration architecture discussions.
- Promote API‑first and event‑driven integration strategies.
- Develop secure APIs following enterprise governance standards.
- Assist in defining integration best practices, standards, and documentation.
- Support integration modernization initiatives and migration efforts from legacy middleware platforms.
Quality & Governance
- Perform code reviews and ensure adherence to development standards.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, interface specifications, and support procedures.
- Support system integration testing (SIT), user acceptance testing (UAT), and production deployments.
- Ensure compliance with security, audit, and change management requirements.
To Land This Opportunity
- 5+ years of enterprise integration experience.
- 3+ years of hands‑on SAP Integration Suite (CPI) development experience.
- Strong knowledge of SAP S/4HANA integration architecture, REST and SOAP web services, OData services, IDocs, RFCs, BAPIs, API Management, XML, JSON, XSLT.
- Familiarity with integration security and authentication methods.
- Confidence with SAP BTP services and strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
Bonus Points
- Experience with SAP Event Mesh and event‑driven architectures.
- Experience with EDI integrations including X12 and EDIFACT transactions.
- Experience integrating with cloud applications such as Salesforce, ServiceNow, Workday, or Azure‑based platforms.
- Knowledge of SAP GTS, TM, EWM, or SuccessFactors integrations.
- Experience with middleware platforms such as Boomi, MuleSoft, Informatica, or SAP PI/PO.

Compensation & Benefits
The salary range for this role is $87,769.96 to $118,448.81 annually, based on qualifications, experience, and location. Parts Town is a pay‑for‑performance company. In addition to base pay, some roles offer a profit‑sharing program and an annual bonus.
