Job summary

Accenture is seeking a seasoned SAP architect to define the Clean Core strategy and lead modern SAP development across ABAP Cloud, RAP, CAP, and BTP. You will oversee architectural governance, code reviews, and workshops for global delivery teams while advising senior client stakeholders on strategic direction.

You will engage with cross-functional teams to shape solutions, drive upgrades, and ensure delivery excellence in client engagements across industries.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of SAP application development experience (S/4HANA ABAP, ABAP Cloud).
• Minimum 5 years with SAP BTP tools and services (latest stack).
• Minimum 4 years data modeling with CDS views/AMDP/OData or similar.
• Minimum 4 years SAP custom development using Clean Core and BTP side-by-side, including RAP.
• Minimum 3 years in a technical leadership role (code reviews, architecture sign-offs).
• Experience with Chemicals & Natural Resources industries is a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; 12+ years work exp, or 6+ years with Associates.

The Work:

• Own the technical architecture for SAP custom development and extensibility - define the Clean Core strategy and the 3-tier extensibility model (key-user in-app, developer extensibility / ABAP Cloud, and side-by-side on BTP), plus target-state development standards.
• Provide thought leadership on modern SAP development using ABAP Cloud, RAP, CAP, Fiori, Generative AI Hub, and SAP Business AI (Joule / Joule Studio).
• Lead the transition from classic ABAP to Clean Core; govern custom-code remediation, released-API adoption, and upgrade stability.
• Plan and conduct architecture and design workshops; own code reviews and architecture sign-offs across global delivery teams in client-facing roles.
• Support pursuits, estimation, and solution shaping; present to client architects and C-suite stakeholders.

Travel may be required for this role, from 0 to 100% depending on business need and client requirements.

Here's What You Need:

• Minimum of 8 years experience developing SAP applications using S/4HANA ABAP (NetWeaver 7.4/7.5) and ABAP Cloud.

• Minimum of 5 years experience with SAP BTP tools and services (latest Application Development and Automation stack).

• Minimum of 4 years experience with data modeling using CDS views, AMDP, OData, or related custom development.

• Minimum of 4 years SAP custom development using Fiori-first, Clean Core, and BTP side-by-side approaches, including RAP.

• Minimum of 3 years in a technical leadership role (code reviews, architecture sign-offs, client workshops).

• Prior experience supporting the Chemicals & Natural Resources industry/clients

• Prior experience in a Consulting/Advisory role.

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent (minimum 12 years' work experience). If Associate's Degree, must have equivalent minimum 6-year work experience.

Bonus Points If:

• You have 1+ years with Cloud Application Programming

• You've earned an SAP certification in ABAP Cloud, BTP (Developer or Solution Architect), or SAP Business AI / Generative AI.

• You have hands-on exposure to SAP Build (Build Apps, Build Process Automation, Build Work Zone) and CAP (Node.js / Java).

• You have DevOps for SAP - Git-based transport / gCTS, CI/CD, and automated testing (e.g., ABAP Unit, ADT).

• You have familiarity with SAP Business AI - Joule, Joule Studio, and Generative AI Hub grounding / RAG patterns.

Compensation at Accenture varies depending on a wide array of factors, which may include but are not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience.
