EY is seeking a Manager in Data Management and Strategy to transform data into a strategic asset for clients. You’ll lead workstreams, engage with clients, and drive governance, quality, and migration initiatives across SAP landscapes.

You will supervise cross-functional teams, leverage SAP data tools, and shape data governance frameworks while advancing enterprise transformation programs. Travel is anticipated 40–60%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required (4-year).
• 4–6+ years of hands-on SAP data transformation experience including MDG, Data Migration, or Data Governance.
• Experience across SAP data management disciplines including Data Migration, MDG, Data Governance, Data Quality, Analytics.
• Strong understanding of SAP S/4HANA data model and migration experience between ECC and S/4HANA.
• Excellent client-facing communication and workshop facilitation skills.
• Proven experience leading SAP data workstreams and cross-functional teams.
• Willingness to travel 40–60%.

The opportunity

As organizations modernize their SAP landscapes, getting master data right is foundational to successful transformation. You’ll sit at the intersection of business strategy and SAP technology – helping clients establish governance, elevate data quality, and execute data migration and MDG programs that support scalable operations and long‑term value. This includes designing and applying comprehensive methods, practices, policies, tools, and processes to govern and control the entire lifecycle of data assets, performing maturity assessment, and advising on tools and roadmaps aligned to business objectives.

Your Key Responsibilities

As a Manager in Data Management and Strategy, you will be at the forefront of transforming data into a strategic asset for our clients. You will lead workstream delivery, ensuring that projects are completed on time and meet quality standards. Your role will involve engaging with clients daily, identifying opportunities for additional services, and managing engagement economics. You will also provide direction to your team, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages innovative solutions.

• Develop solutions to complex problems, recommending changes to policies and establishing procedures that affect immediate work areas.
• Exercise judgment in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
• Manage project status and deliverable completion while ensuring effective risk management.

• Direct cross‑functional teams leveraging SAP data and integration tools (e.g., Data Services, Information Steward, MDG, Datasphere, Data Intelligence, Migration Cockpit; CPI, SLT, APIs) to ensure consistency, integration, and data integrity across workstreams.
• Demonstrated expertise in Data Privacy and Master Data Management.
• Strong understanding of Data Governance and Enterprise Strategy.
• Proven ability to lead teams and manage change effectively.
• Excellent negotiation and influencing skills.

To qualify for the role, you must have

• A bachelor’s degree (4-year degree).
• Typically, 4 – 6+ years of hands‑on SAP data transformation experience, including SAP MDG, Data Migration, or Data Governance initiatives, with participation in one or more full-cycle SAP ECC or S/4HANA implementations.
• Experience across SAP data management disciplines, including Data Migration, Master Data Management (MDG), Data Governance, Data Quality, Data Analytics, and related enterprise data management capabilities.
• Strong understanding of the SAP S/4HANA data model and simplification impacts, with hands‑on experience supporting SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA data and system migrations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including client‑facing presentations, workshop facilitation, and technical documentation.
• Proven experience leading SAP data workstreams or projects and managing cross‑functional, project‑based teams.
• Knowledge of leading practices and advisory experience supporting business and technology transformation initiatives.
• A flexibility and willingness to travel to meet client needs; travel is estimated at 40‑60%.

Ideally, you’ll also have

• SAP certifications in SAP MDG, SAP S/4HANA, SAP Data Services, or related SAP data management technologies.
• Experience defining and implementing enterprise data governance frameworks, data quality programs, and master data operating models.
• Experience with SAP data migration and transformation tools, such as SAP Data Services, Migration Cockpit, Information Steward, Datasphere, Data Intelligence, CPI, or SLT.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to assess data maturity, identify data quality issues, and develop scalable remediation strategies.

• We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $125,500 to $230,200. The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $150,700 to $261,600. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.
