Job Description: The SAP CPI Consultant is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining integrations between SAP and non‑SAP systems using SAP Cloud Platform Integration (CPI) as part of the SAP Integration Suite. The role ensures secure, scalable, and reliable data exchange across cloud and on‑premise landscapes.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy integration flows (iFlows) using SAP CPI.
- Integrate SAP solutions such as S/4HANA, ECC, AWS, Snowflake, Concur, and third‑party applications.
- Develop integrations using SOAP, REST, OData, IDoc, RFC, SFTP, JMS, and file‑based adapters.
- Implement message mappings, content modifiers, value mappings, and exception handling.
- Manage security artifacts including certificates, keystores, OAuth, PGP, and user roles.
- Perform monitoring, troubleshooting, and tuning of integration flows.
- Apply SAP integration best practices and enterprise integration patterns.
- Work with functional and technical teams to gather requirements and translate them into integration designs.
- Create and maintain technical documentation (integration specs, mappings, interface catalogs).
- Support deployments across DEV, QA, and PROD landscapes.
Required Skills & Experience
Technical Skills
- Strong hands‑on experience with SAP CPI / SAP Integration Suite.
- Proficiency in Groovy scripting for CPI extensions.
- Knowledge of integration patterns (Sync/Async, Pub/Sub, Batch vs Real‑Time, Splitter, Multicast).
- Experience with XML, JSON, XSD, and message transformations.
- Solid understanding of SAP middleware concepts and integration architecture.
- Expertise in SAP API Management and API‑led integration.
- Experience connecting cloud‑to‑cloud, cloud‑to‑on‑prem, and hybrid landscapes.
- Familiarity with SAP Cloud Connector.
- Understanding of SAP business objects (e.g., IDocs, BAPIs).
- Exposure to SAP PI/PO migration (preferred).
Experience Level
- 5 10 years of SAP integration experience.
- 3+ years hands‑on SAP CPI / Integration Suite development.
Soft Skills
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to collaborate with functional, security, and infrastructure teams.
- Clear communication with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple integrations concurrently.
Preferred
- SAP CPI or Integration Suite certification.
- Experience with BTP services (API Management, Open Connectors, Event Mesh).
- Knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD, and transport management in SAP BTP.
- Experience in S/4HANA transformation or cloud migration projects.
