Job summary

ABB is seeking an IS Integration architect to lead the design and delivery of SAP-based integration solutions. The role focuses on SAP BTP Integration Suite, PI/PO, ABAP, and modern API-enabled architectures.

You will help define scalable integration designs and governance across North America, with a hybrid work model in Cleveland or Cary. You will guide integration strategies, manage vendors, and drive automation while ensuring security and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, information systems, business administration, or related field.
• Certifications in SAP S/4 HANA Integration, SAP Extension Suite or IT architecture advantageous.
• At least 5 years of experience in SAP Cloud Platform Integration.
• At least 4 years in SAP PI/PO and SAP Integrations.
• Solid understanding of SAP BTP administration.
• Proven experience leading system architecture teams and managing large-scale tech implementations.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage complex challenges.
• Focus on automation and continuous improvement within enterprise systems.
• Extensive experience with Groovy scripting in SAP CPI.
• Proficient in API tools such as Postman and SOAP UI.
• Experience managing external vendors and third-party providers.
• Hands-on SAP ABAP including FRICEW objects.
• Strong SAP S/4HANA, ECC, and PI/PO knowledge.
• Hands-on with IDocs, RFCs, BAPIs, Proxies and Web Services.
• Deep knowledge of SAP BTP services (CAP, CDS, Fiori/UI5) and cloud-native development.
• Understanding of clean core extensibility guidelines.
• Excellent verbal and written communication for non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Design and build IS solutions and services delivered to the business.
• Define and deliver integration technology and architecture for SAP BTP Integration Suite.
• Hybrid work model in Cleveland or Cary; support IS Services Division in North America.
• Accountable for integration expertise across SAP BTP and interfaces.
• Develop scalable, future-proof integration designs and templates.
• Establish governance, security standards, and regulatory compliance.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements to existing systems.
