Job summary

Trigyn Technologies, Inc. in the United States is seeking an experienced SAP BTP Architect to lead a modernization of the SAP landscape, migrating SAP ECC to S/4HANA and extending with CAP, RAP, and AI capabilities.

Background:

The organization is undertaking a strategic ERP modernization initiative to migrate its existing SAP ECC landscape to SAP S/4HANA and expand the use of SAP Business Technology Platform. To support this transformation, the ERP system seeks an experienced SAP BTP Architect with strong hands‑on expertise in cloud application development, S/4HANA extensibility, process automation and SAP business AI capabilities. The consultant will design, build, test and deploy production‑ready solutions using SAP CAP, RAP, SAP Build Process Automation, SAP Build Apps, SAP Joule and related BTP services, while applying clean‑core, security, scalability and lifecycle‑management principles.

Responsibilities:

As part of the Delivery team, and under the supervision of ERP staff, the SAP BTP Architect will be responsible for the following duties:

• Design scalable SAP BTP solution architectures and side‑by‑side extensions that minimize modifications to the SAP S/4HANA core and use released APIs, events and approved extension points.
• Develop cloud‑native applications and services using the SAP Cloud Application Programming Model (CAP), including Core Data Services data models and CAP services using Node.js and/or Java.
• Implement CAP business logic, validations, actions, event handling, REST and OData services, and integrations with SAP S/4HANA, SAP HANA Cloud and other SAP BTP services.
• Design and develop applications and services using the SAP RESTful Application Programming Model (RAP), including CDS views, data models, managed and unmanaged business objects, behavior definitions and implementations.
• Implement RAP validations, determinations, actions, authorizations, draft‑enabled applications, OData services and SAP Fiori elements applications.
• Design and develop responsive SAP Fiori and SAP Build Apps user experiences that consume CAP, RAP, OData, REST and other enterprise services.
• Design, develop and implement business processes and approval workflows using SAP Build Process Automation, including forms, approval tasks, business rules, decisions and reusable actions.
• Implement multilevel and conditional approvals, notifications, reminders, escalations, substitutions, exception handling, workflow monitoring and audit trails.
• Integrate SAP Build Process Automation with SAP S/4HANA, SAP Build Apps, CAP, RAP, SAP Integration Suite and external systems.
• Demonstrate and apply SAP Joule capabilities by developing or configuring Joule skills, conversational interactions, guided actions, development assistance, process automation and relevant generative AI use cases.
• Develop proofs of concept and working prototypes using SAP BTP, SAP Build, SAP Joule, CAP, RAP and SAP Integration Suite to demonstrate potential business solutions and support architecture decisions.
• Configure BTP destinations, connectivity, service instances, bindings, role collections, identity services, entitlements and secure access to applications and services.
• Implement authentication and authorization using appropriate SAP BTP identity and security services, OAuth, certificates, scopes and role‑based access controls.
• Establish source control, continuous integration and deployment, transport, logging, monitoring, testing and operational support practices for delivered solutions.
• Perform unit, integration, regression, performance, security and end‑to‑end testing, and troubleshoot application, workflow, connectivity, authorization and deployment issues.
• Produce and maintain architecture diagrams, technical designs, data models, service specifications, workflow documentation, test evidence, deployment guides and knowledge‑transfer materials.

Required Experience and skills:

A minimum of 12 years of progressively responsible experience in full life‑cycle SAP solution architecture, development, implementation and production support, including the following:

• SAP BTP architecture and development skills (required):
  • Demonstrated hands‑on experience designing and delivering production solutions on SAP BTP, including account structure, subaccounts, entitlements, destinations, connectivity, security and transport management.
  • Advanced hands‑on experience with SAP CAP, including CDS modelling, Node.js and/or Java services, business logic, events, REST and OData services, and integration with SAP S/4HANA and SAP HANA Cloud.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud‑native architecture, clean‑core extensibility, released APIs, side‑by‑side extension patterns, security, scalability and application lifecycle management.
• SAP RAP and user experience skills (required):
  • Demonstrated hands‑on experience with SAP RAP, including CDS views, managed and unmanaged business objects, behavior definitions, validations, determinations, actions, authorizations, draft handling and OData exposure.
  • Experience developing SAP Fiori elements applications and integrating SAPUI5 or SAP Build Apps user interfaces with CAP and RAP services.
• SAP Build Process Automation skills (required):
  • Demonstrated hands‑on experience designing and implementing SAP Build Process Automation workflows, forms, approval tasks, business rules, decisions, actions, notifications, escalations, substitutions, monitoring and audit trails.
  • Experience integrating workflows with SAP S/4HANA, SAP Build Apps, CAP, RAP, SAP Integration Suite and non‑SAP systems.
• SAP Joule and innovation skills (required):
  • Demonstrated experience developing or configuring SAP Joule skills, conversational interactions, guided actions, development assistance, process automation or relevant generative AI scenarios.
  • Experience delivering proofs of concept and working prototypes using SAP BTP, SAP Build, SAP Joule, CAP, RAP and SAP Integration Suite.
• Other skills (desirable):
  • Experience with SAP Integration Suite, API Management, Event Mesh, SAP HANA Cloud, SAP Cloud Identity Services, Git-based development, CI/CD and SAP Cloud Transport Management.
  • Experience in an SAP ECC-to-S/4HANA transformation and in a large, complex, international or public‑sector environment.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, stakeholder‑management, presentation and knowledge‑transfer skills.
  • Relevant SAP certifications in SAP BTP, CAP, RAP, SAP Build, SAP Fiori, SAP HANA Cloud or SAP Business AI are desirable.
