Job summary

GAF Materials Corp. in Parsippany, NJ is seeking an SAP Basis Lead to own end-to-end SAP landscape management, including S/4HANA, CALM, and SAP BTP. The role requires deep technical expertise in SAP systems, upgrades, transports, and integrations.

You will collaborate with SAP ECS, GRC/security teams and cross-functional partners while ensuring performance, security, and compliance across Windows/Linux and HANA DB. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• 10+ years of experience as a SAP Basis Administrator with hands-on experience.
• Experience in multiple SAP Implementations, Upgrades, Conversions, Migrations incl. Greenfield in RISE with SAP context.
• Familiarity with SAP MaxAttention, Enterprise Support procedures.
• Willingness to travel; extensive travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end SAP landscape management across S/4HANA, CALM, SAC, and other SAP SaaS.
• Plan and manage SAP maintenance schedules, DR testing, and upgrades.
• Manage CALM deployments and transports across SAP systems.

And under this roof, we protect what matters most. **Job Summary** This role is responsible for the end-to-end management of the complex SAP Landscape encompassing multiple SAP products including SAP's SaaS solutions. Deep technical expertise and hands-on experience in SAP Systems' Lifecycle management, Systems' Maintenance and Operations, Supporting the SAP Integration, GRC/Security and Development teams' requirements, is needed. **Essential Duties*** Design, Build, test, and deploy the SAP Systems (S/4HANA, BTP Solutions/Services, Other SAP SaaS solutions like CALM, SAC, Ariba, IBP, Datasphere)* Implement the technical approach of all SAP and non-SAP systems integrating with SAP solutions & manage SAP and 3rd party dependencies related to the SAP environment.* SAP System landscape management in operations and project scenarios including transports across different SAP systems using CALM, cTMS etc.* Plan and manage SAP systems maintenance schedule, DR Testing, in coordination with internal and external stakeholders like SAP ECS (RISE)* Deep understanding of SAP best practices on Backup and Recovery* Performance tuning and configuration, troubleshooting and RCA related to HANA DB, S/4HANA, other SAP SaaS solutions* Understanding the structure and setup of Fiori roles, Workzone* Implementation, upgrade, and support of the latest SAP systems versions, running on Windows/Linux OS and HANA DB* Good knowledge of hyperscalers - preferably Azure and GCP. Good understanding of Infrastructure components like Firewalls, Load Balancers etc.* Timely communicate status, issues, and risks to all stakeholders, cross-functional teams, and managers* Experience in implementing CALM for both implementation and operations scenarios for various backend SAP systems (Change control, Monitoring, etc.)* Help manage Issues and Risks to ensure the timely implementation of projects, including carrying out risk assessments, identifying project roadblocks, and driving mitigations/solutions.* Work with technical and non-technical teams, including Customer Support, Product Management, Engineering, and QA teams, to efficiently and effectively resolve project issues and escalations.* SAP BTP Administration: • Managing SAP BTP subaccounts, entitlements, service instances, connectivity etc. • Configuring and administering SAP BTP services • Overseeing BTP landscape setup and maintenance, including SSO using different identity providers - ex: SAP’s default and Okta* Supporting Developments and Customizations: • Providing the necessary SAP Systems’ administrative support for the SAP Development teams that use RAP, CAP and low-code/no-code technologies* Supporting Integrations: • Implementing integrations using SAP Cloud Connector, SAP Integration Suite, and APIs across SAP and non-SAP products like S/4HANA, SAP BTP, GRC/IAG, and other 3rd party systems, ensuring secure and reliable integrations* Supporting SAP GRC and Security: • Deep understanding of and supporting SAP GRC and Security teams in establishing and enforcing best practices for SAP S/4HANA and SAP BTP security • Understanding the compliance and governance needs and ensuring those practices are complied with **Qualifications Required*** Bachelor’s Degree Computer Science, Information Systems or other related field required* Master’s degree Computer Science, Information Systems or other related field preferred* 10+ years of experience as a SAP Basis Administrator role with hands-on experience* Experience in Multiple SAP Implementations, Upgrades, Conversions, Migrations, out of which, at least 1 Greenfield implementation in the “RISE with SAP” context coordinating with SAP ECS and other CSPs* Should be well versed with SAP MaxAttention, Enterprise Support procedures* Flexibility to travel: Travel may be extensive at times to accommodate program needs, including support for program activities, vendor meetings, and site visits as necessary. **General Knowledge, Skills and Abilities*** Proficient level: Strategic and Visionary Leadership: Strategic Thinking, innovation driving, Decision making* Proficient level: Change Management and Adaptability: Managing resistance, adaptability, resilience* Proficient level: People and Relationship Management: Emotional Quotient, Communication, collaboration* Proficient level: Technical and Business Acumen: Digital Literacy, Business/Finance Acumen, Process Design* Proficient level: Personal Drive and Mindset: Growth mindset, action oriented, courage **Technical Knowledge, Skills and Abilities*** At least one SAP certification from the following below preferred: • SAP S/4HANA System Administration • Database Administrator - SAP HANA • SAP Fiori System Administration* Aat least one SAP certification from the following below preferred: • Solution Architect - SAP BTP • Build Work Zone - Implementation and Administration • SAP Cloud ALM **Qualifications Preferred*** Excellent verbal and written communication and problem-solving skills* Good ability to define multiple solution options to business problems* Excellent ability to work on multiple projects concurrently* Strong ability to understand the long-term ("big picture") and short-term perspectives of situationsBase salary and/or rate of pay ranges listed are exclusive of fringe benefits and potential bonuses.
