Job summary

Alphatec Spine, Inc. seeks an SAP Basis Engineer to manage end-to-end SAP landscape, interfacing with Infrastructure, Networking and Technical teams to deliver secure, scalable SAP solutions.

The role covers design, deployment, security architecture, maintenance planning and ongoing optimization of SAP systems such as S/4HANA and BTP, with on-call support and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, CS or Engineering.
• 5–7 years of SAP Basis and Security Administrator experience.
• Experience in at least 2 SAP Implementations, Upgrades, Conversions or Migrations including RISE with SAP.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to organize and prioritize work in cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, deploy and manage SAP Systems (S/4HANA, BTP Solutions/Services, CPI, Datasphere and other SAP solutions).
• Implement the technical approach of all SAP and non-SAP systems integrating with SAP solutions & manage SAP and 3rd party dependencies related to the SAP environment.
• Design, implement, and maintain SAP security architecture, including roles, authorizations, and segregation-of-dollars controls across the SAP landscape.
• Plan and manage SAP systems maintenance schedule, in coordination with internal and external stakeholders like SAP ECS (RISE).
• Overseeing BTP landscape setup and maintenance, including SSO.
• Provide On-call support during weekdays and weekends as per the schedule.

Job description

As an SAP Basis Engineer, you will interface directly with Infrastructure, Networking and Technical teams to understand the requirements and support various business functions and systems capabilities. We are transforming our SAP delivery practices to bring in greater agility.

You will be responsible for the end-to-end management of the complex SAP Landscape and require deep technical expertise and hands-on experience in SAP System management, Maintenance and Operation and supporting SAP Integration. You'll be the go-to expert for SAP security architecture, authentication, and authorization — designing access models that protect the business without slowing it down.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, deploy and manage the SAP Systems (S/4HANA, BTP Solutions/Services, CPI, Datasphere and, Other SAP solutions)
• Implement the technical approach of all SAP and non-SAP systems integrating with SAP solutions & manage SAP and 3rd party dependencies related to the SAP environment.
• Design, implement, and maintain SAP security architecture, including roles, authorizations, and segregation-of-duties controls across the SAP landscape
• Plan and manage SAP systems maintenance schedule, in coordination with internal and external stakeholders like SAP ECS (RISE)
• Deep understanding of SAP best practices
• Performance tuning and configuration, troubleshooting and RCA related to HANA DB, S/4HANA, other SAP SaaS solutions
• Implementation, upgrade, and support of the latest SAP systems versions
• Good knowledge of hyperscalers
• Overseeing BTP landscape setup and maintenance, including SSO
• Own & drive SAP Infrastructure of ATECs to meet future needs, scalability, keeping industry-leading best-practices in mind
• Be part of and drive the design, engineering efficiency and optimize the development process for continuous product delivery
• Implement solutions to streamline processes, reduce redundancy, enhance internal customers’ experience
• Document system architecture, security models, and operational procedures to support a growing, well-governed SAP environment
• Provide On-call support during weekdays and weekends as per the schedule
• Performs other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

• Bachelor or equivalent degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or Engineering.
• 5-7 years of experience as a SAP Basis and Security Administrator with hands-on experience
• Experience in at least 2 SAP Implementations, Upgrades, Conversions, Migrations, out of which, at least 1 implementation in the “RISE with SAP” context coordinating with SAP ECS
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to organize and prioritize workflow to meet established deadlines
• Ability to work within a cross-functional team
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and internet applications
• Strong attention to details
• Ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced, team focused environment

Salary Range

Alphatec Spine, Inc. complies with state and federal wage and hour laws and compensation depends upon candidate’s qualifications, education, skill set, years of experience, and internal equity. $120,000 - $130,000 Full-Time Annual Salary
