Job summary

The candidate will collaborate with business stakeholders, implement CDS views and OData services, and contribute to performance-optimized data models while adhering to best practices and engineering standards.

Qualifications

• Hands-on ABAP development experience with OO ABAP, enhancements, BAdIs, and user exits.
• Solid RAP experience: OData V4, CDS, behavior definitions.
• Strong understanding of SAP Clean Core and side-by-side extensibility.
• Experience on SAP S/4HANA with CDS/AMDP/HANA views.
• U.S. citizenship is required for access to export-controlled information.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deliver SAP solutions using ABAP and the RESTful Application Programming (RAP) model
• Build and maintain OData services, business objects, and CDS (Core Data Services) views in line with Clean Core principles
• Collaborate with functional consultants and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions
• Develop and support SAP S/4HANA applications, leveraging HANA-optimized data models and performance best practices
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to technical standards and best practices
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve application issues in development and production environments
• Contribute to documentation of technical designs, development artifacts, and system configurations
• Support integration efforts with third-party and internal systems via APIs and middleware platforms

Required Qualifications

• ABAP Development: Strong, hands-on experience with ABAP programming, including object-oriented ABAP (ABAP OO), enhancements, BAdIs, and user exits
• RAP (RESTful Application Programming Model): Solid experience building managed and unmanaged RAP business objects, including CDS views, behavior definitions, and OData V4 services
• Clean Core: Demonstrated understanding and application of SAP Clean Core principles, including side-by-side extensibility and avoidance of core modifications
• SAP S/4HANA: Hands-on experience developing on SAP S/4HANA, including familiarity with HANA-native development (CDS, AMDP, HANA views)
• Citizenship: Must be a U.S. citizen — this position may require access to export-controlled information or facilities subject to ITAR/EAR regulations

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Web Dynpro for ABAP for developing and maintaining UI applications
• Background in the aerospace and defense (A&D) industry, including familiarity with relevant business processes (e.g., MRP, project systems, plant maintenance, or defense contract management)
• Familiarity with SAP BTP (Business Technology Platform) and side-by-side extension development
• Experience with SAP Fiori / UI5 development
• Knowledge of SAP integration technologies (e.g., iDocs, BAPIs, RFC, APIs)
• SAP certification(s) in development or S/4HANA
