Job summary

Novo Nordisk in Clayton, NC is seeking a Manufacturing Associate to perform sanitization of aseptic processing areas and maintain cleanroom supplies. You’ll join a global team focused on injectable diabetes and obesity treatments, contributing to a high-standard GMP environment.

The role requires at least a high school diploma, with preferred associates degree and BioWorks certification. You will work a 12-hour shift with potential for growth and training within a safety-conscious culture.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate degree in related field preferred.
  • BioWorks certification a plus.
  • Minimum of one year experience in manufacturing FDA-regulated environment preferred (waived with BioWorks or assoc degree).
  • Aseptic processing experience a plus.
  • Ability to read, write & understand SOPs with attention to detail.
  • Computer literacy preferred.
  • Proven planning/organizing and execution skills.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain aseptic areas & perform sanitizations & environmental monitoring.
  • Actively participate in & support event response.
  • Review & provide input to SOPs & other documents.
  • Train fellow employees & aggressively learn systems & equipment outside own area.
  • Record/review data in BPRs & associated forms utilizing GDP.
  • Follow all safety & environmental requirements in duties.
  • Other accountabilities, as assigned.

In NC, we operate three pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities that are responsible for fulfilling different steps in our injectable and oral treatment supply chains. Our Product Supply Aseptic Manufacturing (PS AM) facility in Clayton, NC is a 457,000 square foot aseptic "fill and finish" site that is responsible for producing innovative, injectable diabetes and obesity treatments. The Position

Perform sanitization of aseptic processing area (APA) cleanrooms and maintain adequate stocks of cleanroom supplies.

Relationships

Reports to Supervisor/Manager.

Essential Functions
  • Maintain aseptic areas & perform sanitizations & environmental monitoring
  • Actively participate in & support event response
  • Review & provide input to SOP’s & other documents, as required
  • Train fellow employees in areas of expertise & aggressively learn systems & equipment outside of own area of expertise
  • Record/review data in BPR’s & associated forms utilizing good documentation practices (GDP)
  • Follow all safety & environmental requirements in the performance of duties
  • Other accountabilities, as assigned
Physical Requirements

Moves equipment &/or supplies weighing up to 33 pounds within the facility using various body positions. Routinely operates & inspects manufacturing equipment using hands. Ability to be on feet for up to a 12-hour shift. May require corrected vision to 20/25 based on role. May require color vision based on role. Occasionally ascends/descends a ladder. May be required to work at elevated heights. Occasionally works around odorous &/or hazardous materials. May be required to wear latex gloves. Occasionally performs critical job functions in extremely cold work environments. Occasionally positions oneself within confined spaces for inspection, repair & maintenance of equipment. Ability to work in loud noise environments with hearing protection. Occasionally works in outdoor weather conditions. Able to pass a driving exam for powered industrial trucks. Does not require a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Associate's Degree in related field preferred
  • BioWorks certification a plus
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience in manufacturing industry, FDA regulated preferred. (Requirement can be waived with BioWorks Certification, or minimum of an associate degree in related field) preferred
  • Aseptic processing experience a plus
  • Ability to read, write & understand complicated product documentation & standard operating procedures with attention to detail preferred
  • Computer literacy preferred
  • Proven expertise in planning/organizing, managing execution, checking results & revising work plans a plus
