Job description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to the following:

Sanitation workers are responsible for disassembling, cleaning, sanitizing, and reassembling production machines, as well as cleaning and sanitizing production areas. Completion of Safety Training is mandatory, including but not limited to LOTO, Food Safety/GMP, Chemical training, and any other training necessary to qualify for the job. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS: An individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities to perform these functions.

  • Must be able to lift 40 lbs.
  • Must be able to work quickly in a fast-paced environment, with repetitive motions.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods.
  • Must be able to work overtime as required.
  • Must be able to work in refrigerated/cold and hot environments, with temperatures ranging from 10°F to 40°F.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma or GED preferred. Previous manufacturing experience is also preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words, recognize similarities and differences between words and numbers, and communicate in simple sentences.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations with two-digit numbers, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, using units of American money, weight, volume, and distance.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to understand and carry out simple one- or two-step instructions and deal with standardized situations with minimal variables.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Regularly required to stand, use hands to handle or feel, reach, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, and hear. Must occasionally lift/move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.

  • Use hands and arms to lift at least 40 pounds.
  • Maintain the physical demands of the tasks.
  • Walk or stand for extended periods.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Frequently exposed to extreme cold, hot, and wet environments, as well as moving mechanical parts. Noise levels are typically loud. Reasonable accommodations are available for individuals with disabilities.
