Role Description

The Sanitation Worker role at OTCS Houston is a full-time, on-site position based in Houston, TX. This role is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing work areas, equipment, and common spaces to maintain a safe and hygienic environment. Day-to-day tasks include performing routine and deep cleaning, handling cleaning chemicals according to safety guidelines, removing waste and recyclables, and ensuring proper storage and labeling of sanitation supplies. The Sanitation Worker will follow food safety and sanitation procedures where applicable, inspect areas for cleanliness, and report maintenance or safety issues. The role may also involve collaborating with team members, supporting sanitation-related training, and following established schedules and checklists to meet regulatory and company standards.

Qualifications

• Strong Communication skills to follow instructions, report issues, and coordinate with team members.
• Knowledge of Food Safety and Food & Beverage practices where sanitation standards impact product or service quality.
• Hands-on experience or understanding of Sanitation procedures, use of cleaning equipment, and safe handling of chemicals.
• Ability to participate in or support Training related to safety, sanitation protocols, and operational procedures.
• High attention to detail, reliability, and ability to follow checklists and standard operating procedures.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, lift, and perform repetitive tasks in various environmental conditions.
• Basic understanding of workplace safety practices; willingness to use personal protective equipment as required.
• Previous experience in sanitation, custodial, housekeeping, or food service environments is beneficial but not required.

Salary

$15-$20 per hour
