Job summary

Essentia is seeking a dedicated Sanitation Technician to maintain a clean, safe facility in accordance with SSOPs and approved quality procedures. You will follow the 7 steps of sanitation, execute the sanitation schedule, and collaborate with quality and operations teams to ensure food safety standards are met.

The role requires attention to detail, ability to read safety rules and operating manuals, and a willingness to work in shifts with exposure to cleaning chemicals in a production

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required or equivalent work experience.
  • Food/Feed manufacturing sanitation experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Responsibilities

  • Execute sanitation schedule: Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Semi-Annual and Annual.
  • Sanitize floors, drains, walls, and shelves.
  • Maintain a clean facility using the 7 steps of sanitation.
  • Perform pre-op and notify quality and operations that pre-op is completed.
  • Record keeping for the sanitation schedule.
  • Label secondary containers.
  • Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve department goals.
  • Continuously improve the sanitation process.
  • Safely transfer cleaning chemicals to application equipment.

The employee will normally work indoors, however, they will occasionally be exposed to seasonal temperatures when completing outdoor duties.
