Job summary

Save-A-Lot, Ltd. is seeking a Sanitation Technician for our distribution center in Ohio. The role involves cleaning warehouses, offices, restrooms, break rooms and exterior grounds, with Sunday start and shift requirements.

You will follow SAL policies and ensure safe operations. The ideal candidate is 18+, has a high school diploma or equivalent preferred, PITOT certification, sharp attention to detail, good English communication, and a strong work ethic to support a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Successful completion of PITOT certification (training provided by the company).
• Attention to detail and strong English communication skills.
• Ability to count, write numbers, and maintain safe, accurate records.
• Willingness to work varying shifts, holidays and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Gather debris and trash and move items for disposal or reclamation.
• Track dumped product for inventory adjustments and report to inventory.
• Sweep, mop and dust warehouse areas and break rooms.
• Maintain pest control stations per policy.
• Fill out paperwork for job completion tracking.
• Safely operate pallet jacks, forklifts, floor scrubber, and reach trucks.

Work Schedule: Sunday - 7:00am start

Purpose

The Sanitation Technician is responsible for the general cleaning of the warehouse, offices, restrooms, break rooms and exterior grounds of the Distribution Center.

Responsibilities

• Gather debris and trash such as cardboard, tape, shrink wrap, paper and damaged product resulting from distribution functions, taking items to designated areas for re-coupe or disposal
• Track dumped product for proper inventory adjustments and report numbers to the inventory department
• Sweep, mop and dust warehouse areas including but not limited to break rooms, restrooms, offices and exterior grounds
• Maintain pest control stations as required by SAL policy
• Fill out required paperwork for job completion tracking
• Safely operate heavy machinery such as pallet jacks, sit down forklift, floor scrubber, and reach trucks
• Adhere to company policies, standards and best practices

About You

• Must be 18 years of age
• High School diploma or equivalent preferred
• Successful Completion of Powered Industrial Truck Operators Training (PITOT) certification required. (Training provided by the company)
• Attention to detail and have strong communication skills in English
• Must be able to count accurately, match and write numbers and Positive work history including safety and attendance
• Strong work Ethic
• Team spirit, self-motivated and initiative to support the needs of a fast pace environment
• Willingness to work required shift schedules and varying days of the week including holidays and/or weekends

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to stand, bend, walk, kneel, squat, turn, reach, pull, push and lift up to 85 pounds, in a fast pace environment for extended period of time
• Regularly works in freezers, coolers and refrigerators in temperatures as low as -15 degrees Fahrenheit
• Must have the ability to stand, walk and / or move about for extended periods of time
• Requires the ability to push, pull, grasp, twist and use sawing motions for extended periods of time
