Job summary

Proper Beverage Company seeks a Sanitation Technician II for the 3rd shift (Mon night–Fri night, 11pm–7:30am) in Kentwood, MI. You will independently perform routine and complex sanitation tasks to keep equipment and the production area clean and compliant with safety and quality standards.

You will mentor junior teammates, maintain sanitation logs, and help improve procedures. The role requires attention to detail, ability to follow SOPs, and strength to handle physically demanding tasks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–2 years sanitation experience in food, beverage, or manufacturing.
• Working knowledge of cleaning chemicals, sanitation procedures, and equipment handling.
• Ability to read and follow standard operating procedures and safety guidelines.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify and correct sanitation deficiencies.
• Capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
• Effective communicator and team collaborator.
• Physically able to stand, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Physically able to work in wet or humid environments and around cleaning chemicals.

Responsibilities

• Independently execute sanitation protocols for production equipment, machinery, and facility areas.
• Disassemble, clean, sanitize, and reassemble equipment in accordance with SOPs.
• Accurately mix and use sanitation chemicals according to safety and usage guidelines.
• Conduct routine inspections and identify sanitation issues or maintenance needs.
• Maintain accurate cleaning logs, checklists, and sanitation documentation.
• Escalate equipment malfunctions or deviations from cleaning standards.
• Support compliance with GMP, FDA, and OSHA.

Job Description

As a Sanitation Technician II, you will be responsible for independently performing routine and complex sanitation tasks to ensure the cleanliness and safety of our production environment. In this role, you will follow established procedures, mentor junior team members, and help maintain compliance with food safety and quality standards. Your attention to detail and problem-solving skills will support efficient and hygienic operations.

This is a full-time, 3rd shift position. The schedule is Monday night through Friday night from 11pm to 7:30pm.

Responsibilities

Sanitation Execution

• Independently execute sanitation protocols for production equipment, machinery, and facility areas
• Disassemble, clean, sanitize, and reassemble equipment in accordance with SOPs
• Accurately mix and use sanitation chemicals according to safety and usage guidelines

Monitoring & Compliance

• Conduct routine inspections and identify sanitation issues or maintenance needs
• Maintain accurate cleaning logs, checklists, and sanitation documentation
• Escalate equipment malfunctions or deviations from cleaning standards
• Support compliance with all regulatory standards including GMP, FDA, and OSHA

Team Support & Communication

• Assist with training and onboarding of Sanitation Technician I team members
• Provide input to improve sanitation procedures and workflows

All other duties as assigned.
