Job summary

Garelick Farms, a Dairy Farmers of America company, is seeking a Sanitation Technician for the 3rd shift to ensure a clean, safe, and compliant production area and equipment. The role emphasizes adhering to sanitation guidelines, GMPs, and ongoing quality standards in a fast-paced plant environment.

The position is 3rd shift Tuesday through Saturday, 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with a sign-on bonus and competitive pay.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 to 3 years of sanitation or related experience.
  • Certification and/or License may be required during course of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform cleaning per the Master Sanitation Schedule to keep areas sanitary.
  • Clean floor drains, hand wash sinks, overheads, production trash cans, equipment ledges, etc.
  • Complete work orders and logs accurately and promptly.
  • Ensure all chemical containers are properly labeled.
  • Inspect PPE and replace damaged equipment as needed.
  • Complete special cleaning projects.
  • Maintain safe working conditions and comply with health and safety regulations.
  • Follow GMPs and all corporate sanitation requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Sign on Bonus of $1,500 for External Candidates

Rate $21.00/hr. + $1.50/hr. Shift Diff. (2nd and 3rd Shift)

GENERAL PURPOSE

Guarantee proper sanitizing of production area and equipment. Maintain a safe, quality, and sanitary plant operation while adhering to all sanitation guidelines and following all established procedures.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Perform cleaning procedures required by the Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS) and other required duties to maintain assigned areas and equipment sanitary and clean.
  • Clean floor drains, hand wash sinks, overheads, production trash cans, equipment ledges, etc.
  • Complete work orders and logs accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Ensure all chemical containers have proper and legible labels on them.
  • Inspect personal protective equipment (PPE) used for cleaning and report or replace any damaged equipment.
  • Complete special cleaning projects.
  • Maintain safe working conditions for employees and compliance with all state and federal regulations regarding health and safety issues.
  • Follow all DFA good manufacturing practices (GMP) and work in a manner consistent with all corporate regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 to 3 years of sanitation or related experience.
  • Certification and/or License - may be required during course of employment.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Knowledge of plant operations.
  • Able to operate production equipment, components, and peripheral accessories.
  • Able to effectively work in a team environment.
  • Able to follow directions and carry out instructions.
  • Able to legibly write entries for record keeping.
  • Able to take appropriate steps to find solutions to problems.
  • Able to perform task and duties under general supervision.
  • Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English.
