Job summary

Blue Diamond Growers in California is seeking a sanitation associate to maintain cleanliness of production and office areas under supervision. You will operate heavy cleaning equipment, support quality assurance, and follow HACCP, GMP, and safety practices.

Responsibilities include using floor scrubbers and other powered tools, performing routine maintenance on equipment, handling caustic cleaners, operating a forklift, and documenting sanitation tasks daily.

Qualifications

• 1 year of general sanitation, janitorial, or custodial experience.
• Forklift certification required.

JOB OVERVIEW:

Under general supervision engages in semi-advanced sanitation functions ensuring the cleanliness of production and office areas. Typically operates heavy-duty cleaning equipment to execute job tasks. Supports plant quality assurance initiatives and understands/ adheres to Blue Diamond HACCP processes, Good Manufacturing Procedures (GMPs) and safety practices.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Engages in sanitation functions that require the use of powered equipment e.g. floor scrubbers, gas- powered sweepers, and pressure washers.
• Performs routine maintenance and minor repairs on cleaning equipment including floor buffers, shampooers, floor scrubbers, vacuum cleaners and related power cleaning equipment.
• Applies caustic chemicals to surfaces stained by oils and other materials.
• Operates forklift to relocate sanitation related items.
• Tracks/documents sanitation tasks on a daily basis.
• Occasionally engages in general sanitation duties such as cleaning/ sanitizing breakroom microwaves-, door knobs, counter tops, table tops and chairs.
• Checks and restocks paper towels, soap, hand sanitizer, and uvex lens tissue wipes.
• Supports the cleaning of the bathroom sink area and sink fixtures; wipes and sanitizes hand soap, paper towel, hand sanitizer dispensers.
• Vacuums carpets; use a black hand brush and Alpet D2 to remove spot stains.
• Wipe down walls using non-ammoniated glass cleaner.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum level of education required
  1. High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum number of year(s) of experience required in addition to education plus type(s) of functional experience
  1. 1 years of general sanitation, janitorial, or custodial experience
• Required to obtain a forklift certification.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES (Specialized education, specific software experience, etc.)

• Experience managing and applying sanitation chemicals.
• Experience operating forklifts.
• Experience operating industrial cleaning machines.
