Job summary

Mastronardi Produce Ltd. in Oneida, NY seeks a sanitation technician to maintain daily cleanliness and food safety standards across greenhouse, housing units, packhouse, lunchrooms, washrooms, and offices.

You will support customer satisfaction by upholding Food Safety guidelines and company policies. Responsibilities include completing trainings, wearing PPE, operating equipment only after training, maintaining records, reporting damages, and working independently or with the team.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.
• One year of related sanitation/maintenance experience.
• WHMIS certification is an asset.
• Willingness to train in company policies.

Responsibilities

• Attend all required trainings: Food Safety, Sanitation, Health & Safety and ensure compliance with company policies.
• Wear appropriate PPE as required.
• Operate equipment only after proper training (e.g., floor scrubber, vacuums, dispensing stations).
• Perform heavy lifting and equipment breakdown as needed.
• Complete and maintain Health and Food Safety records.
• Work with the team, follow directions, and offer support.

Job description

Primary Function:

This individual must ensure that the cleanliness and sanitation standards are carried out daily throughout the greenhouse operation, housing units, Packhouse, lunchrooms, washrooms, offices, etc. By providing the highest cleanliness within our facility ensures we meet our customer’s demands under the Food Safety guidelines thus reinforcing our customer relationships.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Attend all training requirements: Food Safety, Sanitation, Health & Safety and ensure that compliance is adhered to always – company policies, rules and regulations.


• Wear appropriate PPE as required (Personal Protective Equipment).


• Only operate equipment once you have been properly trained: ex: floor scrubber, vacuums, dispensing stations, etc.


• Requirement of some heavy lifting and equipment break-down.


• Complete and maintain Health and Food Safety records as required.


• Teamwork required, follow directions, offer support and make suggestions when necessary.


• Report any damages or issues immediately so that repairs can be administered (greenhouse, housing units, washroom facilities, etc).


• Other assigned duties as required from time to time.

Education/Background Requirements:

• Grade 12 diploma or equivalent required.


• One-year related work experience required.

Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

• Self-motivated, positive attitude, work independently.


• Work independently with minimal supervision.


• Must follow all company policies and procedures.


• WHMIS certification an asset, willingness to train.


• Follow all Food Safety & Health & Safety policies.

Working Conditions:

• Greenhouse Environment, where the temperature averages 70°F and background noise approaches 70 dcbs.

Starting pay $17.00/hour
