Job summary

Butterball in Mount Olive, NC is seeking a sanitation supervisor to guide the sanitation team and ensure food safety and cleanliness across the facility. You will develop, validate, and help implement sanitation practices, including cleaning routines, chemical handling, and training delivery.

You will lead day-to-day activities, coach and mentor staff, enforce safety rules, and collaborate with maintenance and production to address sanitation issues.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED (or equivalent).
• 4+ years of relevant sanitation experience in food manufacturing.
• 1+ year of leadership or supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervises day-to-day activities of a team of entry level individual contributors; provides coaching and support.
• Implements and promotes chemical/sanitation safety programs and safe work practices.
• Monitors and adjusts cleaning systems to ensure optimal cleanliness.
• Partners with management and other functions to troubleshoot sanitation problems.
• Audits cleaning and sanitation program effectiveness for continuous improvement.
• Ensures sanitation oversight and resources are available to support operations.
• Evaluates data and trends related to cleaning verification and takes corrective actions.
• Conducts regular meetings with plant management to discuss sanitation findings.
• Collaborates with cross-functional teams to define sanitation activities and resources.
• Develops and oversees the department’s operating budget.
