Job summary

Pacific Seafood is seeking a Sanitation Supervisor to lead the sanitation crew in a fast-paced production environment. You will ensure adherence to cleaning protocols, coach and train staff, and uphold food safety standards across the facility in Woodland.

The role requires a commitment to safety, ability to work variable shifts, and experience with HACCP or food safety programs is a plus. Competitive hourly compensation and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

  • Minimum one year related experience in a food processing environment or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Sanitation Protocol Management: provide hands-on cleaning, sanitation instruction, and guidance to the sanitation crew.
  • Safety Leadership and Equipment Oversight: promote safe work behaviors and oversee equipment use, including forklift/pallet jack certification.

Compensation: $23.00 - $24.00 / hour

The Sanitation Supervisor at Pacific Seafood is a key role on our Production team supporting efforts to maintain a high level of food safety and product quality. This position involves following strict cleaning and sanitation procedures while monitoring and training the sanitation crew and is ideal for someone who is clean, meticulous, and a good communicator.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Sanitation Protocol Management:
    • Provide hands‑on cleaning, and sanitation instruction and guidance to the sanitation crew following the company’s Master Sanitation Program.
    • Oversee the sanitation crew’s appropriate use of chemicals and cleaning agents to clean and sanitize processing area walls, floor, and equipment.
    • Ensure the removal of debris from the processing area.
  2. Safety Leadership and Equipment Oversight:
    • Promote safe work behaviors and overall plant safety.
    • Maintain and oversee the proper use of equipment, including becoming and maintaining certification as an electric pallet jack and forklift operator.
    • Verify the efficacy of daily cleaning through both the use of Hygiena ATP testing unit and daily preoperational inspections with the sanitation crew still present.
    • Provide corrective actions to ensure all surfaces are adequately cleaned and sanitized before production.
  3. Communication and Training:
    • Communicate chemical supply levels to management.
    • Compile and store sanitation compliance data and reports.
    • Conduct new hire and ongoing job and safety training for the sanitation crew.
    • Participate in management and strategic planning meetings in the pursuit of operational excellence.

Additional responsibilities may be assigned as deemed necessary to support the overall goals and objectives of the position.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Education and Experience
  • Required
    • High school diploma or GED
    • Minimum one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in a food processing environment
    • Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams)
  • Preferred
    • Prior experience with HACCP, COOL Act, or other food safety programs
    • Prior forklift and pallet jack experience
    • Forklift certification
    • Must be able to work varied work schedules

  • Capable of working and communicating in loud environments, while focusing on tasks.
  • Capable of training in using specialized tools and equipment pertinent to operations.
  • Capable of solving simple math equations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
