VanTran Industries, Inc. is seeking a Sanitation Supervisor to lead sanitation staff and coordinate daily cleaning operations across non-production areas in a manufacturing facility.

You will ensure a clean, safe, and compliant environment, including break rooms, offices, and restrooms, while promoting safety and continuous improvement. Responsibilities include scheduling, inspections, training, inventory management, and maintaining SDS-compliant practices.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, schedule, and assign daily tasks to sanitation technicians.
  • Ensure break rooms, offices, restrooms, and common areas meet cleanliness and sanitation standards.
  • Conduct routine inspections and audits to maintain quality and compliance.
  • Train new hires and provide coaching on procedures, safety, and chemical handling.
  • Monitor inventory levels of cleaning supplies and coordinate reordering as needed.
  • Ensure proper use, storage, and maintenance of cleaning equipment and chemicals (SDS compliance).
  • Address employee concerns, performance issues, and attendance per company policies.
  • Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to resolve facility-related issues.
  • Support deep cleaning, special projects, and audits or leadership visits.
  • Maintain documentation of cleaning schedules, inspections, and corrective actions.
  • Promote and enforce all safety policies, including PPE usage and hazard communication.

Job description

The Sanitation Supervisor is responsible for leading and coordinating sanitation staff to ensure a clean, safe, and compliant environment across non-production areas, including break rooms, offices, and restrooms. This role oversees daily cleaning operations, enforces sanitation standards, and supports a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement within the facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise, schedule, and assign daily tasks to sanitation technicians
  • Ensure all break rooms, offices, restrooms, and common areas meet company cleanliness and sanitation standards
  • Conduct routine inspections and audits to maintain quality and compliance
  • Train new hires and provide ongoing coaching to sanitation staff on procedures, safety, and chemical handling
  • Monitor inventory levels of cleaning supplies and coordinate reordering as needed
  • Ensure proper use, storage, and maintenance of cleaning equipment and chemicals (SDS compliance)

Requirements
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or certifications in facilities, sanitation, or safety preferred
  • 25 years of custodial/sanitation experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • 1+ year of supervisory or team lead experience preferred
  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and OSHA safety standards
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 40 lbs regularly
  • Ability to perform and demonstrate cleaning tasks as needed
  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment
Work Environment

Manufacturing facility with exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures

May require flexible scheduling, including evenings or weekends
