Job summary

Keefe Group, a division of TKC Holdings, Inc., seeks a packaging-plant associate to maintain production rooms, equipment, warehouse and grounds on-site. You'll report to the Director of Packaging and help ensure smooth daily operations.

The position requires GMP knowledge, basic math/reading skills, and the ability to lift up to 70 pounds. Regular hours Mon–Thu 8:00–16:30, Fri 5:00–13:30; benefits include health, retirement, PTO, tuition reimbursement and more.

Qualifications

  • One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Lift/pull/carry loads up to 70 pounds.
  • Knowledge of sanitation practices.
  • Forklift experience preferred but not necessary.
  • Basic math and reading skills.
  • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals.
  • Write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to work: Monday - Thursday, 8 am - 4:30 pm and Friday 5am to 1:30 PM

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the production rooms, equipment, warehouse and building grounds.
  • Work onsite. Report to the Director of Packaging.
  • Ensure reliable attendance and follow the work schedule.
  • Maximize quality production with minimal downtime and waste.
  • Follow GMPs and company policies; ensure safety and quality standards.
  • Identify and correct food safety or quality issues.
  • Report unsafe conditions or property damage to supervisor.
  • Mix cleaning chemicals to prescribed ratios and test cleaning effectiveness.
  • Sanitize production equipment and operate floor scrubber.
  • Safely operate a forklift after certification; inspect scrubber, scissor-lift, forklift.
  • Assist with changeovers, unload inbound stock and document entries.
  • Support setup/cleanup of company events.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks and report needs to supervisor.

About This Position

You will maintain the production rooms, equipment, warehouse and building grounds.

You will work onsite. You will report to the Director of Packaging.

Essential Functions/Main Responsibilities
  • We require reliable attendance; you must follow your assigned work schedule.
  • Maximize Quality Production with limited down time and waste.
  • Know and follow all GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices) and Company Policies.
  • Recognize and correct food safety and quality issues.
  • Report any unsafe condition or property damage to supervisor immediately.
  • Mix cleaning chemicals to predetermined ratios.
  • Use test kits to check effectiveness of cleaning.
  • Sanitize production equipment per cleaning instructions.
  • Operate a floor scrubber.
  • Safely operate a forklift after passing certification.
  • Perform inspections on scrubber, scissor-lift and forklift; report problems to Supervisor.
  • Clean plant, warehouse, production rooms, and grounds per cleaning schedule.
  • Maintain disposable inventories and report needs to Supervisor.
  • Perform routine, preventative maintenance tasks as assigned.
  • Seek additional instruction upon completion of tasks.
  • Weigh, document and dispose of dust collection waste.
  • Help with changeovers.
  • Help unload inbound stock, complete corresponding documentation.
  • Help with setup/cleanup of company events.
  • Other responsibilities as determined by our needs.
