Job summary

Whole Foods Market in Cheshire, CT is seeking a Full Time Sanitation Team Member for our Perishable Distribution Center. The role focuses on keeping a clean, safe facility handling Floral, Meat, and Produce products in a temperature‑varied environment.

The position requires reading basic English, being 18 or older, and willingness to work a 1:00 PM – 11:30 PM shift with a 4‑day/10‑hour week including weekends and holidays. Wage range is $18.00–$33.66 hourly with full Whole Benefits eligibility.

Qualifications

• Ability to deliver information in a clear and concise manner to fellow team members and customers
• Ability to comply with all WFM policies and procedures
• Ability to complete all tasks in a thorough and timely manner
• Working understanding of and compliance with all WFM quality goals, and thorough product knowledge with acquired training
• Demonstrates responsibility and accountability in recognizing and accomplishing tasks where there is a direct job responsibility
• High attention to detail and thoroughness in approach with all paperwork
• Ability to use knives, personal protective equipment, forklift, pallet jacks, hand trucks, six-wheel carts, baler, and all other equipment used during preparation and clean up within the department

Responsibilities

• Clean warehouse with hand brooms, electric powered scrubbers, and sweepers to meet company standards
• Keep track of cleaning supplies and replenish as needed; notify supervisor of shortages
• Remove and properly dispose of all refuse, recycle, cardboard, and broken pallets
• Clean offices, break room, conference room, restrooms, and floors; replenish paper goods
• Pre-shift warm up, meetings and pre-shift equipment checks
• Change or charge batteries in power-operated equipment and safety gear
• Record time accurately using time clock
• Utilize cleaning checklists and adhere to safety procedures
• Maintain proper dress code and PPE
• Arrive on time and attend required trainings/meetings
• Read and speak basic English; be 18+ years old
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors
• Report safety hazards and accidents promptly
