Job summary

SunOpta, Inc. is seeking a Sanitation Manager for our Omak, WA facility to lead the sanitation program and ensure GMP-compliant cleaning and sanitation.

You will own SSOPs, manage chemical usage, and coordinate with third-party providers to drive cost savings while maintaining audit readiness for SQF. The role requires HACCP/QA experience in a high-speed food manufacturing environment and a Bachelor’s degree in a related field.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in a sanitation leadership role in a food processing facility.
• HACCP Certification preferred; SQF and PCQI certifications desirable.
• B.S. in Chemical/Industrial Engineering, Food Science, Microbiology or related field.
• QA experience in high-speed automated consumer goods manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Direct sanitation, janitorial program direction, coordination, and evaluation.
• Ensure equipment and surfaces are cleaned per SSOP and cleaning records with approved chemicals.
• Lead and train all levels of employees on pre-operational inspections of equipment.
• Direct sanitation activities and set priorities for cleaning according to schedules.
• Ensure safe handling of chemicals and obtain Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
• Maintain documents for SQF, HACCP, SSOPs, and GMPs for sanitation.
