Job summary

Utz Quality Foods, Inc. in Hanover, PA, is seeking a Sanitation Lead to assist the Sanitation Manager with the daily cleaning, inspections, and safety of equipment across the Broadway facility. The role requires leadership, training, and flexibility to meet production demands.

Work hours are Monday through Friday, 1:00 PM to 10:00 PM with every other Saturday. Candidates must follow GMP and SQF standards and are expected to uphold high safety and cleanliness standards in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Previous sanitation/manufacturing or food production experience is preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively with team members and leaders.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures and checklists.

Responsibilities

• Assist day-to-day operation of the facility's Sanitation function.
• Help coordinate and organize major cycle-ending cleanups with Sanitation and Plant Leadership.
• Support training, education, and safety of Sanitation team members.
• Serve as a Sanitation SME within the production facility after required approvals and certifications.
• Participate in packaging, processing, auxiliary equipment, and production cycle-ending cleanup activities.
• Clean and sanitize production equipment, packaging rooms, processing areas, and other assigned areas across Campus production facilities.
• Follow proper Lockout/Tagout procedures and all required safety practices.
• Safely handle and dispense cleaning chemicals according to established procedures.
• Operate forklifts and sanitation equipment after training and certification.
• Use high-pressure rinses, air wands, cleaning chemicals, hand-cleaning tools, squeegees, and other sanitation equipment.
• Remove and properly dispose of waste and return cleaning equipment to designated locations.
• Follow standard work instructions and sanitation checklists to verify work is completed properly.
• Work closely with Production, Sanitation Leadership, and other team members to ensure cleaning is safe and effective.
• Help identify safety concerns and report to Plant Leadership.
• Follow GMP, SQF, food safety requirements and company safety procedures.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
