Job summary

George's Processing is seeking a dedicated sanitation team member to clean and sanitize processing equipment and areas. The role involves working with cleaning detergents in wet environments, and the work environment can be hot or cold and fast-paced with tight deadlines.

Responsibilities include sanitizing equipment, following prescribed chemical procedures, and maintaining safety practices such as Lock Out Tag Out and fall protection as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of sanitation and/or processing experience.
• Able to work around cleaning detergents and chemicals in wet environments.
• Attention to detail in a fast-paced, deadline-driven setting.

Responsibilities

• Maintain assigned area during sanitation work.
• Use chemicals and cleaners according to prescribed procedures.
• Operate high-pressure water hoses and hot water to clean equipment.
• Access equipment by moving around and on top of it to clean hard-to-reach areas.
• Work quickly to meet tight deadlines to prevent startup delays.
• Follow safety practices, including Lock Out Tag Out and fall protection when required.

SUMMARY: The Sanitation team member is responsible for ensuring that the cleaning and sanitizing all processing equipment and processing areas within their area of responsibility. The position requires working around cleaning detergents and chemicals in a wet environment and could be either hot or cold. The position is fast paced, on a tight deadline and requires attention to detail.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for assigned area while sanitation is being accomplished
• Utilize chemicals and cleaners to sanitize the equipment in accordance with prescribed processes and procedures.
• Utilize high pressure water hoses and hot water along with hand scrubbers or brushers to clean equipment.
• Maneuver in, around, and on top of equipment to reach areas needing to be cleaned.
• Work quickly and efficiently to meet tight deadlines to ensure shift startup is not delayed.
• Responsible for safety, making sure Lock Out Tag Out procedures and Fall Protection equipment are utilized when appropriate.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position will/will not have supervisory responsibility.

Required 1 year of Sanitation and/or Processing experience
