Responsibilities

• Performs general facilities work during the day shift, shifting to sanitation duties as needed.
• Product change cleaning as necessary.
• Cleans and sanitizes items after maintenance has been performed.
• Warehouse cleaning.
• Production floor cleaning.
• Supports Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS) responsibilities.
• Trash removal in warehouse and on plant floor.
• Breakroom upkeep.
• Overall cosmetic upkeep of plant floors and warehouse.
• Disassembles and reassembles equipment for cleaning and reassembly.
• Refills consumables throughout the facility.
• Grounds upkeep and exterior trash removal.
• Painting and window cleaning.
• Pressure washing walkways.
• Performs janitorial-related items as needed.

Summary

The primary role of the Sanitation and Facilities Technician is to perform general facilities upkeep during the day shift while being available to execute sanitation activities, including chemical safety practices and the disassembly/reassembly of equipment, whenever those duties are needed. This position works across facilities and sanitation functions and supports the Master Sanitation Schedule in accordance with plant SOP's.

Primary Responsibilities

• Performs general facilities work during the day shift, shifting to sanitation duties as needed since sanitation knowledge and execution primarily reside on night shift
• Product change cleaning as necessary
• Cleans and sanitizes items after maintenance has been performed
• Warehouse cleaning
• Production floor cleaning
• Supports Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS) responsibilities
• Trash removal in warehouse and on plant floor
• Breakroom upkeep
• Overall cosmetic upkeep of plant floors and warehouse
• Breaks down and starts cleaning lines and equipment that has been finished for the day, understanding proper chemical use and safety and how to disassemble and reassemble equipment
• Refills consumables throughout the facility
• Grounds upkeep, including trash removal on the exterior of the building
• Painting
• Window cleaning
• Pressure washing walkways
• Performs janitorial-related items as needed
• Overall upkeep of building cosmetics

Qualifications

• Prior experience in sanitation, facilities maintenance, or a similar plant environment preferred
• Understanding of chemical safety, including which cleaning chemicals to use and how to handle them safely
• Ability to disassemble and reassemble production equipment for cleaning and reassembly
• Ability to work a flexible schedule and move between facilities and sanitation duties as business needs require
• Basic mechanical aptitude and comfort using janitorial, cleaning, and pressure-washing equipment
• Should have a valid driver's license
• Able to withstand extreme temperature changes from cold to dry warehouses
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds, stoop and/or climb as needed and stand for extended periods of time
• Strong attention to detail
