Job description

Full-service sanitation employee specializing in contract sanitation services at large food manufacturing facilities. Responsibilities include using wet and dry cleaning methods to clean production lines, silos, shipping areas, and other facility zones, including manufacturing equipment, machinery, offices, canteen, and bathrooms. Shift: M-F 6 am - 2:30 pm

Position Summary Details

The Sanitation position involves maintaining cleanliness and upkeep of assigned areas.

Essential Functions
  1. Perform all tasks assigned according to the ABM Sanitation Program.
  2. Follow all food safety and safety guidelines.
  3. Disassemble, clean/sanitize, and reassemble equipment.
  4. Accurately and safely clean equipment areas or periodic work zones.
  5. Sweep, mop, and maintain offices, restrooms, lunchrooms, and outside parameters.
  6. Adhere to and maintain the sanitation program using the Master Cleaning Schedule, ensuring procedures are correctly implemented.
  7. Collaborate with leadership to ensure compliance with plant procedures and food laws.
  8. Use appropriate cleaners and sanitizers for all food processing equipment and facilities.
  9. Conduct daily self-inspections to monitor sanitation issues.
  10. Inspect work before it is checked by the lead.
  11. Be knowledgeable about the Lockout Tagout Safety program.
  12. Assist in training new employees or those changing job classifications.
  13. Report equipment problems immediately to supervisors.
  14. Communicate safety and health matters and promote safety positively.
  15. Follow all safety procedures relevant to the job.
  16. Plan and execute job tasks safely, avoiding hazards.
  17. Work in confined spaces following protocols where applicable.
  18. Work under all conditions, including wet, humid, hot, and cold environments.
  19. Work at heights within the facility.
  20. Learn and operate industrial equipment like scissor lifts, boom lifts, and floor scrubbers.
  21. Maintain flexibility in work schedule as it may change periodically.
  22. Arrive on time, prepared, and work full scheduled hours daily.
Requirements
  • Prior experience in food plant sanitation or related field preferred.
  • Flexible with shifts and days off; availability on weekends and nights as required.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Follow instructions and safety procedures diligently.
  • Adhere to all GMPs, policies, and procedures of the facility.
  • Lift up to 20 lbs overhead and 50 lbs at waist level.
  • Ability to bend, twist, stoop, kneel, and stand for extended periods.
  • Distinguish colors, smells, and audible alarms.
  • Capable of rapid movement across the plant, climbing stairs/ladders, crawling under machinery.
Qualifications
  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Must meet all requirements for working in specific ATS environments, including a ten-year work history if available.
Preferred Qualifications

At least 1 year of similar work experience.
