Job summary

Winland Foods is seeking a Sanitation Associate to lead daily sanitation activities and support line employees in a safe, clean production environment. You will work with the Sanitation Supervisor to uphold food safety standards and WA quality while modeling the company values of Excellence, Quality, Integrity, Respect and Collaboration.

Responsibilities include routine sanitation, maintaining equipment cleanliness, performing inspections, and coordinating with teams.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 2 years of work experience in manufacturing or food production sanitation preferred.
  • 18+ years of age.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with routine and non-routine plant sanitation activities.
  • Ensure equipment is clean and food safe.
  • Perform daily inspections, preventive maintenance on sanitation equipment.
  • Understand and follow plant policies for placing materials on hold and collecting retention samples.
  • Communicate sanitation results to other teams within the plant.
  • Follow GMP, HACCP, SQF, FSMA, and company food safety policies.
  • Provide backup coverage for multiple roles, share knowledge with peers, and support training.
  • Assist with SOP development and training.
  • Facilitate cross-departmental collaboration.

Safe Equipment Operation & Maintenance:
  • Assistswith routine and non-routine plant sanitation activities.

Food Safety & Sanitation Compliance:
  • Follow GMP, HACCP, SQF, FSMA, and company food safety policies.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation.
  • Makesrecommendations for improving plant cleanliness and sanitation effectiveness.
Team Collaboration, Leadership & Training:
  • Assistteam members, adapt to operational changes, and contribute to productivity, safety, and quality goals.
  • Provide backup coverage for multiple roles, share knowledge with peers, and support training.
  • Assist with SOP development and training.
  • Facilitate cross-departmental collaboration.
Documentation, Communication & Continuous Improvement:
  • Prepareaccuratewritten documentation.
  • Participate in 5S efforts.
  • Assistin reviewing sanitation paperwork.
  • Work with supervisors and team to develop solutions to issues.
  • Act as 5S champion for area.
Knowledge, Training and Experience:

Education & Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum2yearof work experience in manufacturing or foodproductionsanitationpreferred.
  • 18+ years of age.
Technical & Mechanical Skills:
  • Ability tooperate, troubleshoot, andadvise on minor adjustments to formulas or processes.
  • Mechanical aptitude with the ability toidentifyand resolvequalityirregularities.
  • Proficiencyin SAP, hand scanners, and basic math skills.
  • Advanced levels requireproficiencyin MII, WE systems, and interpreting line huddle measures to resolve issues.
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Safety & Compliance:
  • Knowledge of GMPs, SQF, HACCP, FSMA, and other food safety regulations.
  • Commitment to following all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Ability tolift upto 50lbs.,push heavy loads, stand/walk up to 90% ofshift, and climb as needed.
  • Must have near and far visual acuity, some color perception, andfullrange of hand/arm movement.
Teamwork, Communication & Leadership:
  • Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers,supervisorsand others at the worksiteregardingwork matters, which are mostly conducted in English. This includes the ability to understand and respond to oral communications; understand written information, communications, and safety information; and communicate in writing as needed.
