Martin Foods, L.P. seeks a sanitation associate to maintain cleanliness across production and storage areas. You will remove trash, sanitize rooms, and assist QA staff with PPE distribution and spill response.

Responsibilities include cleaning coolers/freezers, monitoring condensation, and ensuring proper chemical labeling and storage. Must lift up to 80 lb, work in 30–40°F environments, and follow shift instructions for daily tasks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; sanitation experience preferred.
• Able to lift up to 80 lb and stand/walk for extended periods.
• Work in 30–40°F environments for long shifts.
• Able to follow instructions and operate sanitation/production equipment if required.

Responsabilités

• Remove boxes to box packer during production.
• Remove trash, blood spill and debris from coolers, freezer and dock areas.
• Scrub cooler floors daily.
• Prepare sanitizer solution inside production room as needed.
• Clean under dock levelers weekly.
• Wipe condensation and clean freezer areas as directed.
• Keep the freezer entrance free of frost.
• Handle disposal of inedible materials and manage barrels.
• Assist QA Technicians with PPE distribution.
• Check and refill soap dispensers and towels.
• Keep outdoor areas clean and trash bins emptied daily.
• Wash outdoor area by box packer and move pallets to correct area.
• Clear and tidy locker rooms and laundary pickup.
• Sanitize utensils/equipment after testing/allergen changes.
• Dispose soiled frocks/gloves as needed.
• Trash handling in dry warehouse daily.
• Label and store chemicals properly.

Objective

Maintain and control all aspects of the facility. Responsible for keeping all facility clean.

Organizational Relationships

Reports directly to Plant Superintendent. Report indirectly to Plant Supervision.

Primary Job Duties

1. Remove all boxes to box packer during production.
2. Remove trash, blood spill and debris from coolers, freezer and dock areas.
3. Scrub cooler floors daily.
4. Prepare sanitizer solution inside production room when needed (second shift job)
5. Clean out under dock levelers once per week.
6. Condensation walk through; wiping down any consideration this will be done through out your shift or upon request of Production Supervision. (this includes freezer)
7. The freezer entrance way needs to be cleared of any frost (this will be done once daily)
8. Handle all inedible functions (disposal, cleaning inedible area, smell, etc). All gray barrels will be filled completely full.
9. Assist Quality Assurance Technicians, when necessary. Help them on dispensing PPE at beginning of the shift and after each break.
10. Check and refill all soap dispensers and paper towels
11. All outside area (parking lots…) will be check for cleanliness and clean as needed. All outside trash cans will be checked and emptied if needed (this includes cigarette buckets). This will be done once daily.
12. Outside area by the box packer will be washed down and pallets removed to correct area: This will be done once daily or as needed.
13. Both locker rooms will be cleared of any trash. This includes white coats to laundry pick up.
14. Clean and sanitize utensils and equipment as needed in the production room (after E.coli test…, Allergen change overs, and spice level changes)
15. Remove all soiled frocks and gloves as drums need to be removed once full and dropped off in designated areas.
16. The dry warehouse will have trash barrels emptied and trash picked up off floor daily.
17. Be sure that all chemicals are well labeled and properly stored (not in contact with food)

Before the end of the shift

1. All bathrooms’ will be checked and all supplies, which are needed, will be replenished (papers, soap, etc.)
2. First shift will not leave until informing the second shift of any unfinished projects that must be completed.

20. Walk through all areas of production and storage. All plastic and other trash must be removed as needed.

21. Spot check all cooler floors and wipe down any spills. Blood, grease, water etc.

22. Condensation walk through will be done and all condensation will be wiped down.

23. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Position Pre-Requisites

High school diploma or GED equivalent with previous experience in sanitation.

Skill Requirements

Able to follow instructions and operate all Sanitation equipment and Production equipment if required.

Physical Requirements

Able to lift up to 80 lb. & remain standing and/or walking for extended periods.

Working Conditions

Able to be in a 30º - 40º environment for extended periods.
