Job summary

Reser's Fine Foods in Roanoke Rapids, NC seeks a sanitation worker to ensure production machines, equipment, and areas are cleaned and sanitized to meet SSOPs and safety standards. You will follow chemical handling procedures, participate in LOTO, label compliance, and collaborate with teammates to maintain a clean, compliant facility while supporting other sanitation tasks as needed.

Experience in food plant sanitation is preferred, with basic math skills and ability to read English.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent is preferred.
• OSHA knowledge is preferred.
• Spanish speaking is preferred; ability to read, write and understand English is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Must follow safe chemical handling procedures.
• Must follow LOTO program.
• Must follow chemical labeling guidelines.
• Responsible for safely cleaning the production facility and equipment.
• Must be willing to help co-workers and uphold a Team Member environment.
• Verify assigned area is ready for Sanitation.
• Dismantles, cleans and reassembles assigned production equipment as needed per SSOP.
• Identifies and reports equipment opportunities identified, reassembles and tests all production machines and equipment.
• Must follow the proper steps of sanitation and sanitize areas of responsibility.
• Inspects all equipment after it has been cleaned.
• Verify assigned area is ready for production to start after Sanitation is complete.
• Maintains the cleanliness and organization of the assigned work area.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Job Specifications

• Experience as a sanitation worker in a food plant environment is preferred.
• High school education or equivalent is preferred.
• OSHA knowledge is preferred.
• Work various shifts, including night shift, with some weekend work as required.
• Spanish Speaking is preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and understand English is preferred.
• Basic arithmetic skills.

Working Conditions

• Refrigerated food manufacturing plant.
• The environment may be wet or dry and temperatures may range from 25F to 110F.
• Frequent exposure to hazardous material and waste.
• Repetitive lifting, kneeling, and bending with items in excess of 60 lbs. is required.
• Repetitive hand, wrist, and finger activities.
