Job summary

Centrex Technical Sales in Powhatan, Virginia, is seeking an experienced sanitary piping technician to support fabrication and assembly of process skids and related equipment. The role involves reading P&IDs, fitting valve manifolds, and ensuring precise weld prep for sanitary TIG/GTAW welding.

You will work in a fast-paced shop environment, uphold hygienic standards (3-A, FDA, ASME BPE), and contribute to high-quality process systems for medical and beverage industries.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of sanitary process piping experience.
• Proven ability to fit complex valve manifolds and sanitary equipment.
• Hands-on experience fitting and aligning sanitary tanks preferred.
• Strong understanding of sanitary connections (Tri-Clamp, Bevel Seat), surface finish, and passivation.
• Proficient with sanitary pipe cutters, facing tools, grinders, and measuring instruments.
• Experience in food, dairy, beverage, or pharmaceutical process skids or modular systems.

Responsibilities

• Measure, cut, and fit high-purity stainless steel piping for process skids.
• Assemble complex valve manifolds and process skids per engineering drawings.
• Position and fit tanks, reactors, and vessels into skid systems.
• Read P&IDs, isometric drawings and layout schematics.
• Prepare welds for sanitary TIG/GTAW welding.
• Maintain hygienic design standards (3-A, FDA, ASME BPE) for joints.
