Job summary

MillerKnoll is seeking joining manufacturing talent for sanding furniture and components, with a competitive hourly wage and comprehensive benefits starting on day one. This role emphasizes attention to detail and safe operation of sanding equipment.

Qualifications

• Experience sanding furniture or cabinetry.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Willing to follow safety procedures and wear PPE as required.

Responsibilities

• Sand furniture and components to prepare for finishing.
• Operate air palm sander, hard block, blocks, and foam sanding tools.
• Operate a machine sander.
• Inspect for scratches and fill with color putty as needed.
• Steam dents to minimize imperfections.
• Break edges on drawers, doors and other parts prior to sanding.
• Rack items by order and room number as they are completed.
• Learn to run stroke sander.
• Lift up to 50 pounds as required.

Position Summary:

Sanding of furniture and furniture components to achieve optimal product for final finishing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Sanding of furniture and components
• Use of Air operated palm sander, hard block, assorted blocks and foam to sand.
• Use of machine sander
• Responsible to look for scratches and putty areas that may need to be filled with proper color putty.
• Steaming of dents
• Breaking of edges on drawers, doors and other case good parts that will run through the machine sander
• Racking of items as they are completed by order number and room number.
• Must also learn to run stroke sander
• Ability to lift a maximum of 50 pounds

Compensation range for this role is $20.00 - $22.00.

Relevant salary considerations will include candidate qualifications and experience, other business/organizational needs and market factors.
