Job summary

Ohio Truck Sales is seeking a Sandblaster/Pressure Washer to strip grease and grime from trucks using pressure washing and sandblasting. Duties include prepping frames for paint and following the Detail Supervisor's schedule.

Responsibilities cover equipment operation, safety PPE, and maintaining a clean yard. The role requires outdoor work in all weather and the ability to lift 50+ lbs and stand for extended periods.

Qualifications

• HIGHSCHOOL GRADUATION OR EQUIVALENT.
• Experience with power tools is required.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Valid Driver’s License is required.
• Physical ability to lift 50+ pounds and stand/walk for long periods.
• Basic hand-tool manipulation and ladder climbing ability.
• Ability to bend, squat and lift frequently.

Responsibilities

• Inform Supervisor of supplies or safety equipment needed.
• Assure trucks are clean and ready for cosmetic repair.
• Must be willing to work in all weather conditions.
• Follow safety policies and wear PPE.
• Clean out trucks of trash before entering the shop.
• Keep hoses clean and properly stored.
• Keep concrete areas clean and free from grease and mud.
• Return truck to parking spot after degreasing.
• Maintain clean, debris-free work areas.
• Keep yard organized when caught up on trucks.
• Clean rusty frames so paint can be applied.
• Blow off excess sand from frame.
• Daily trips to dump using company vehicles.
• Daily use of PC, emails, and conference calls.
• Wear all required PPE.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job description

The Sandblaster/Pressure Washer is responsible for stripping the truck’s engine, chassis and suspension of grease and road grime with the Pressure Washing machine. Secondary processes include sandblasting the frame and suspension in preparation for a new coat of paint, prior to entering the Cosmetic Department. The Sandblaster/Degreaser will follow the schedule provided by the Detail Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities / Essential Job Functions

• Have working knowledge of sandblasting and power washing equipment
• Inform Supervisor of any supplies or safety equipment needed
• Assure trucks are clean and ready for cosmetic repair
• Must be willing to work in all weather conditions
• Understand and follow all safety policies and wear all proper PPE
• Clean out all trucks of trash before entering into the shop
• Ensure all hoses are put away and are clean and free of grease
• Ensure all concrete area is clean and free from grease and mud
• When finished degreasing truck, put truck back in respective parking spot
• Keep all areas clean and clear of debris
• When you are caught up on trucks, be sure to keep the truck yard organized
• Clean rusty or dirty chassis frames completely so we can apply a new coat of fresh paint to the entire frame
• Blow off excess sand from frame
• Make daily runs to the dump using company vehicles to drop off trash
• Daily use of advanced PC and business computer applications, telephone conferencing and e-mail.
• Wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Performs other job-related duties assigned

Required Education, Skills & Abilities

• Minimum education: High School graduation or its equivalent
• Experience working with power tools
• Must be able to work outside in the elements (will provide outside attire)
• Valid Driver’s License
• Physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential function of the job.
• Must be able to lift and carry 50+ pounds
• Constant hand, fingers, and arm use
• Must be able to climb up and down a ladder
• Ability to continuously stand or walk
• Ability to manipulate small hand tools
